This is my favorite after trying many voip app. Built-in tunneling, so you can use it even if voip is otherwise blocked by ISP
You missed the best . Talkaton, and Google Talk.
Hangouts or Line!!!!
Yeah, I have Groove I p on Htc phone and I really like it the UI is simple!
I also have Google Voice and a GV number for a year. GV can be used through G Mail, but text messsages seem unreliable especially to iphones!
My concern would be what information these apps are gathering.
Google voice will be integrated with the new Hangouts app!!!

Spare Phone is awesome. You use it with a Google Voice Account and call US numbers for free.
I run a CallCentric VoIP box at the house and the Android app (not compatible with tablets) is great to have on hand
WhatsApp.

I use GrooveIP… it uses Google talk, but you can call for free in US anyone and they don't need to be a member…
There is a message app that is extensively used outside of the US: Whatsapp

We tested almost ALL voip & sip in iOS & ANDROID on our iPhone 5 & Galaxy S4 & the TOP 3 are VONAGE, TANGO & VIBER…
The other ones are cheap looking and don't have what the TOP 3 has now.
So download VONAGE, TANGO & VIBER and ca it a day!!!
