  1. If you're a developer, stay away from these tablets. As far as I'm aware, there are no drivers for ADB for them (for Windows 8 at least). Archos have completely useless support for developers. It's ok as a cheap tablet for kids to play Angry Birds on though.

  2. The new Titanium and Platinum tablets suggest that Archos has turned a corner on build quality and reliability. Fingers crossed that has continued into the Familypad series, as a tablet this size is just the kind of thing my mum would like for use around the house for games/web browsing. (Obviously too big to be totally portable.)
