  1. Renault use the exact same system on their saloons, I had to replace several of these on mine. Either the plastic clips snap, or in my case, moisture rusted the cables until they snapped and unwound, and the glass goes bye byes into the bottom of the door.
That truck is in amazing shape for 24 years old, wouldn't mind it for myself.

  2. Had to replace my right rear window regulator on my BMW E46 in the spring. Wasn't bad at all. But I also decided to replace the front ones "while I was at it". And that was more of a doozy with airbags in the doors and everything.

  3. Ray is a Droid created by a mad scientist to repair anything. Vehicles are what he was programmed to do BUT Ray has alternate subroutines that can repair UFO's, Nuclear submarines, undersea turbines, and satellites of all kinds just to mention a few. He is programmed to make mistakes here and there to lend to this authenticity as a human. He has no smell and does not sleep. Rainman is his code name, given to him by his programmer. He also has built in solar skin that absorbs light to keep his batteries charged. Amazing piece of technology actually. shhhh, don't tell anyone.

  4. That little squeak when lowering the window sounded just like my smoke alarm low battery chirp. Had me going there for a moment! And hello again Al Gor-Rhythm.

  5. Long wat fwd from the 70s/80s: had to drill out rivets…regulator scissors type with nylon rollers…door panels with nylon grip pop-ins that needed replacement: ..I
suggested to installing rivnuts and use stainless steel attach hardware upgrade for those nylon retainers…later years towards 90s that became the forerunner of this video design…never got any recognition or bonus for my idea…quit working for factory dealers by 1988…now retiree at almost age 75…just gonna do my own vehicles now!

    Thx for your tenacious skills!

    to you R&R man!

  6. I hate working on door panels for anything…. they always seem to have the sharpest edges that will take of skin faster then a japanese ginsu knife… on a dislike scale I give them a solid 9.25 next to visiting your family dentist for a root canal…. 🙂 Great job Ray…. You minimized the blood loss with skillful prestidigitation of the window regulator…. P.S. to Ray…. the old 1970's Mercedes Benz used a gear drive for the wing windows…. they were bomb proof….

  7. A money-saving tip for Ray: Buy paper towels that come with perforations for multiple individual, small towels. That way you won't have to get a whole new roll for each window. You are welcome! 🤣

  8. Good job Ray. Always like watching your videos, and the way you make it looks so easy, while letting us know that we aren't the only ones that make mistakes. BTW, I'd like to know what product you used to clean the glass. I think someone got Armorall or something on the inside of the windshield and nothing I used will get the stuff off. Just smears it all over.

  9. What annoys me is a perfectly functional regulator has to be discarded because some rocket scientist engineer decide a 10 cent piece of plastic would be fine instead of making a metal one for another 5 cents
Good job Ray you inspired me to fix the regulator on my wife’s car when you did one a few years ago😀

  10. Oh sure, make it look so easy! I had this exact problem with both windows on my '00. It was parked for over a year because of that, I just expected it to be much more difficult than that! I should have known better, Chevy = Legos for big boys. 🙂
