The FBI/PPD Violent Crimes Task Force is seeking the public’s assistance to identify and locate the subject responsible for the robbery last week of the Republic Bank branch located at 833 Chestnut Street.
This subject may be connected to other recent bank robberies in Center City, as well, which remain under investigation.
At approximately 3:38 p.m. on February 5, 2020, the subject entered the bank, approached the counter, and presented a threatening demand note to a teller. After receiving an undisclosed amount of cash, the subject fled the area of the bank on foot, heading east on Chestnut. According to information developed by the VCTF in the course of the investigation, he was last observed in the area of 13th and Spruce.
The subject is described as a black male, average build. He was wearing a black jacket, black knit gloves, black mask, black shoes, and a black winter hat with furry ear flaps. His skin and/or clothes may have had red stains on them after the robbery.

A reward is being offered for information leading to this subject’s capture; tipsters can remain anonymous.
