Adela Raz served as the last ambassador of Afghanistan to the United States, a role she held when the Taliban returned to power in 2021. She previously served as the first female ambassador and permanent representative of Afghanistan to the United Nations.
The following interview was conducted by the Kirk Documentary Group’s Mike Wiser for FRONTLINE on April 4, 2024, prior to Joe Biden’s withdrawal from the presidential race. It has been edited for clarity and length.

The west liberal doesn’t understand that you cannot fight islamist and in normal way. How strong men in the history could defeat them? Kings ruled in this region for centuries. The western laws of engagement do apply here.

For your information: in my family 2 ladies, with university diploma, got recently jobs, without paying any dollar as bribe money. One as a school teacher and the other one as police officer. During the 20 years of western democracy they applied several times for jobs, but they were asked to pay 2000 US dollars to get the positions. Do you see the difference? The ordinary Afghans are very happy that the western nightmare has come to the end in Afghanistan; hopefully for ever and never repeats again.
Mrs. Raz,
The Afghans, supporting the occupying forces, should bear in mind for ever:
Never again to relay on occupying force and never slaughter their own people for the sake of foreign ideologies, even for western democracy.
The Afghan leaders were corrupt. If the top 100 leadership roles of a country is not corrupt, the lives of millions of citizens of a country will not be ruined like the lives of Afghans. There are very few countries that have these corrupt leaders and Afghanistan is at the top of that list. If leaders weren’t corrupt they would come up with a way to come to a mid point with Taliban, the west and the east and prevent their countries from ruins.
We know a corrupted woman.

Unfortunately, as a result of all those decisions and circumstances the only victims are those poor and innocent people who lost their lives, truly believed in defending freedom and democracy , lost their children , husbands , wives , and infants by terrible suicide and genocidal attacks, and a lot more tragedies happened that recalling those moments are heartbreaking to bring them up; now Americans and Afghans must know and acknowledge who were responsible for all those tragidies and lost; I believe those who had wrongfully misused the power for their personal benefists, their tribal and never been honest in their responsibilities must be punished. The group that led and directed the country was corrupt and dishonest. Those who betrayed the Afghan people and left them behind in a terrible situation that now have no rights or voices under the Taliban regime must be questioned and punished including the former president of Afghanistan and his close circle of the corrupted and shameful that today enjoy the stolen money abroad.

Happy that precious corrupted and puppet government is gone
Taking responsibility for a country requires a huge commitment of skilled professionals and leaders. It is a great lesson for the US and its allies to learn not to trust a group of immature and corrupt individuals if there is ever a next time.

All these people were from the Mathia Group in Afghanistan, and none of them came to power to serve the People of Afghanistan, these people have theft all AFGHANISTAN properties, and all of her families were in the power, these are just the dramas they are saying and acting, the real and poor people have suffered , these people were in luxury life, a curse to Ashraf Ghani and his relatives and their supporters, the real Afghans are now suffering of their bas actions.
