left outside for 26 years, this vintage ski doo is in very rough shape but lets do our best to see if it can ride again.

I meant calapser
Some kind of valve spring caliper maybe.
Would you take the cowl off already? It makes things 80% easier
Can you take a fuel pump of a inverted generator for the skido just a thought
Hi Musty the longer the better , let me decide when I pause it to come back later or not . Thanks for your great content.
I’m so glad you made a video on a vintage snowmobile! Keep doing it!
Love this part!
Bombardier riveted those cowls (crappy design,) we always drilled & put 4 bolts/nuts (minimum) to hold cowls in channel so it could be removed for easier service.
Hi! With winter here, any video of it in snow yet?
We want more! 🙂
a bearing sp;iter and some baby ratchet strap rachets 🙂 love your show. thanks Have you ever watched Ren, a song called Hi Ren?
Looks like a 12/3 Olympic. 12hp engine….worked like a tractor in the snow…slow and steady and rarely got stuck.
Mustie 1, super genius,.lol
I had one of these ,they were the best machine you could buy and they were not hard to work on The Rotax engine could not be killed they were the best and anyone could fix them.
Awesome fix mustie….good work 👍
Put the belt on first. The driven pulley spring may be enough.
"Just a little on the tip hehehe"
This is why we love you Mustie
Kind of a late response and don't know where you're at on the Ski-doo but from other videos I've watched on old snowmobiles, the drive cogs tend to bust into pieces under load from sitting for years. I'm no expert and don't know if the drive sprockets on that particular sled are hard plastic or not. Love your channel!
Long vids work for me! 😀 Don't worry 'bout the kids with short attention spans who haven't quite worked out you don't need to watch in one go 😛
I think it is pressed on its A tapered spindle and the nut presses it on
old stuff so simple ….
can you imagine parking a fairly modern snowmobile outside for 25 years ? and try to get it runnuing again?
Junk?? This is a marvel!!!
If theres rust on the tip u missed the hole🤡🤡😂
Cracks me up how he talks to the camera like his buddies are standing around. I keep expecting for him to ask me to hand him a beer……
20 thou under 1" is very close to 25.0mm; metric bearings are easy to id as they are usually 6XX or 6XXX for standard type ball bearings.
You ended up refitting the spring on the driven pulley exactly the way I suggested!
Don't worry too much about the clutch spring, they work together when the belt is in. The stiffer spring in the front wil pull de belt back into the rear one. Newer variomatic drives only have one spring in the rear clutch. Nice work!
The whole spring conundrum had my anxiety through the roof 😂
The drive chain case typically has a few inches of gear oil in the bottom of it.
The model is Olympic
The Jerry of all riggers. Lol.
Long videos rock!
I truly enjoy the fact that you dont beg your viewers for parts, tools and money like some other small engine guys.
If you feel like sharing, what'd you change about your diet to help with the migraines?
You need a surge protecter strip on the wall with multiple plugs and you can just flip the switch on and off. Instead of having to unplug it and then try to find the plug behind the table later😊
Where'd that bolt go that took a dive at ~1:23:30?
