I just won this Range Rover for $700 at a Car Auction. This Luxury SUV once cost over $75,000 new, and now they’re frequently sold for scrap value. So how bad is it???

Definitely go with expensive at least if it dont work ur be 100% sure need a whole trans dont get that with the cheap knockoffs.
Usual trouble. A premium luxury car carries premium luxury repair costs even when it has depreciated to junker levels.
With LS swap, you could have beauty and reliability.
no China parts
700$ is too much for a Range Rover.
Transition!
try the cheap fix and go from there as it makes better content. would be nice to see if it fixes it. Makes me want to go out and buy one ðŸ˜ÂðŸ‘Â
At least it's shiny..
Could this be the second video I’m seeing of you and this RR? 😋ðŸ‘ÂðŸÂ¼
Do you have the insurance problems with these that we have in the UK?
I'd spend the extra for the good solenoids.
Try the cheap ones and see how it works then. Can’t wait to see the update!
It amazes me that Range Rover still exists considering how insultingly unreliable they are.
get the cheap ones if it works then great! and if it fucks up again just get the more expensive ones
£700 is what they are worth new. such is the reputation for breaking down very expensively every few miles. you would think LR would have sorted that by now.
Bs the bumper is worth$700
Hi Sam. THis happened to my Merc. After sitting in the garage for 6 months after l bought it, the transmission went into limp mode due to a failing main battery.
Fitted a new battery and reset the transmission with a scanner and VOILA! All done.
Does this mean that whole live stream with this car on a trailer was just a bit of click bait drama? The whole 'drama' there was: "Will it start!!?"
Sounds like u need a cigarette fatty
We accidently got a Jaguar. We got scammed by the flipper tbh, our naiveness too.
But it's amazing how unreliable these are. 10 days later the fuel system was leaking and had heavy gasoline smell everywhere. door locks weren't working, some BCM functions were hardly working, etc.
Buy Chinese
Euro trash according to Eric O.
Zf Zip kit. Its the preassure valve. Install that with new plate. And clean out the solenoids.
I had a similar tranny issue with my 2001 Ford F150. Dealer and local transmission repair shop both recommended a new (reman) tranny for a cost of around $3000. I replaced one shift solenoid myself ($17) and serviced the tranny at the same time (i.e. new filter and fluid). That was over ten years and 100K miles ago and the tranny is still working as it should. Lesson here…..don't listen to the dealer and do your homework.
I had the valve body repaired on my 05 LR3 with the 4.4. Great engine, my symptom was clunking between gear shift. Tried the fluid/filter swap but a no go. After the valve body job it’s been solid for 50k so far. Other than coil and plugs, and several other minor mechanical issues you can expect with a 200k plus SUV it’s been a solid ride. Can’t wait to see you handle the job!
…OEM or replacement type….for the $300 a set…..good show……
Always fun to watch your next success or failure. ðŸ˜ÂðŸ‘ÂðŸÂ»
Cheep fix , when time has proved no more issues, upgrade to decent fixðŸ˜Å
That's the correct statement, mechanics don't do repairs nowadays just replacements. However, I think buying the cheapest seloniods from China is worth the risk.
Sam Check the fuse box , I had a similar issue on my 2007 Jaguar XK which uses the same 4.2 v8. I had been swapping around fuses to fix an electrical fault and a similar issue occurred to me, it wouldn't shift . Turns out I had forgotten to put a fuse back in and replacing it fixed it immediately. This powertrain is incredibly reliable, just make sure to change the trans fluid once in a while.
People truly have no idea just how insanely reliable the AJ V8 truly is. Besides, it's backed by a ZF 6HP. Both indestructible. Point is stay away from any Rover with a 5.0 or BMW powerplant. Long live the AJ.
Why buy them if they're always broken?
Buy 2 sets of the Chinese solenoids and use one set as a backup. Win win 🎉
Lift you’re feet while walking around dude 😅😅
This guy is a natural. A+
Aw man.. video too short!
Reman solenoids. If it works put new ones in
Cheap chinese or clean yours. Or just replace #3
If it was a choice between OEM Land Rover parts and Chinese 'copies', I'd be getting the Chinese copies……… and I'm from England!!! 🤣
This is so dumb. parting it out will make you money. Dont act like you lost money.
Not another one… Please don’t ever change, Sam.
Ever. 🤣
buy the oem solinoids sam do the job once cheers from down under
If ita so common isnt it an insurance fraud?
Sam: Your relationship with Range Rovers can accurately be described as dysfunctional/abusive…..
