  1. P0496 this was very helpful. This at least confirms my suspicions about that rubber flap which seats beneath the purge valve may be my issue. I have changed it 2x and may have accidently thrown it away and code is still present. I'll try to find a scrap at a junk yard or use my cut out gasket makers to see if it helps…

  2. No apologies needed Ray. Love, love you and the wife units podcasts. Your the best mechanic in the world as far as I'm concerned. Your podcasts are good for my mental health❤

  3. To remove GM transmission filter seal use a 6 inch long 1/2 inch tapered pipe nipple easily acquired from your friendly local hardware store. Make a simple slide hammer with it if you like. The pipe nipple will thread into the rubber of the seal and effortlessly pull the seal out along with the steel outer sleeve.

  4. 16:13 When you put the camera under the car, there was a leakage, but since you are in the hotter state, standard airco is turned on, so, could it be that it is dripping condensed water?
27:43 It said: Turn on the ignition, with the engine OFF !!!! Yet you start the engine… I know your wife is hot, but keep your head in the game Ray! LOL!!!
Ps. I love to see your vids.

  5. Your customer complains of a thumping/squealing noise in the rear. I have this truck and Ill bet the problem is the missing rubber pad in the leaf spring. If you drive these trucks with the bed unloaded the rubber isolator between the leaf spring and overload spring shears off. Then you get the thumping sound and if turning a squealing metal on metal sound for a split second. Replace all four isolators on both leaf springs and fluid film the leaf pack. I hope this helps because it is not easy to find. Trust me I knkow.

  6. Something I never see commented on – you run a lot of vehicles for extended periods in tbe shop. Guess you feel the air exchange ratio is sufficient so as not to cause long-term CO intake issues for you/your staff?

  7. Check the Part campaign encourages parts professions to open the box during part return process. Review the return to verify it matches the purchase. Incorrect manufacturer parts, wrong part type, wrong return type, and not a part at all contribute are too common. These are wastes of resources, including time, and drive cost up.

  8. Don’t worry about the knockers Ray. You have a fantastic channel and I am learning so much from you. As in all walks of life there are always the know all do nothings.

  9. Dude I love your videos and I watch them on my 75” tv and when you moved the darn camera while showing the scan tool it’s like being thrown around !! Don’t forget we have to watch it and get Nauseous 🤢 lol 😂 please think about us on the other end of the camera ! I know you got video to make but please slow down ..😂

  10. I have a 22 silverado with the 2.7 and it's got 24,000 miles on it and it threw a P146F code the told me the purge pump failed on the evap system. Not sure how common this is but it shouldn't be happening this soon
