  1. “Follow service data not some dumb YouTube video” idk Eric YouTube saved my ass the other day lol. I had a 2011 Lexus in no crank no comm with the PCM. I checked all my powers and grounds which were good, I scoped my can lines which also looked great. I called a PCM but first went through AllDatas entire diag tree which also had the conclusion of replacing the PCM. But before I pulled the trigger I decided to type my issue into google and lo and behold I come across a YouTube video of a guy with the same issue. He explains there’s a silver bullet on Identifix (our company got rid of Identifix last year) and he shows that the high pressure fuel pressure sensor internally shorts out and pulls down the whole pcm, unplug the sensor and you regain comm with the pcm. I’ve studied every wiring diagram on this car and I genuinely don’t think I would’ve come to this conclusion on my own. The way the wiring diagram is written up I don’t see how I could’ve gotten to this answer short of unplugging literally every single sensor on the car that had a 5 volt reference feed. I’ve seen a sensor go bad and take down all the sensors on that 5 volt tree but I’ve never seen one take down the pcm like that

  2. Just want to say that I enjoy watching the show. I think you're super sharp. Wish there was one of you in every town. I would like to mention, after replacing my timing belt on my Saturn with the j35 Honda, I think the mystery on the crank bolt is the heavy spring washer. Take a look and see that it's slightly concave. The threads are only torqued against it. I did not have a sufficient torque wrench along with my weighted socket to do the job. An easy way out on that is to put your breaker bar on and wedge it against the suspension and then bump the key. Works every time.
