I love the Escalade interior upgrade!!!
Federal emissions on an 02 LB7, is a good thing! It means there's nothing on it, just a muffler, no cat, no, egr. California trucks, are the problem. My 02 has zero emissions, from the factory, That's one reason I won't sell it, besides all the upgrades.
LMM came out after the LBZ, Basically same engine, with more emissions BS.
Nicely explained.i learned stuff and things.
Oh no risking a run away with a leaking turbo. That’s if it’s leaking on inlet side
In Canada, most oil field trucks are left idling all the time o ce it get ti -35 to -50*. Sometimes for weeks. Tuff trucks
I have only ever driven naturally aspirated gas engines my whole life actually it's my preferred way but wanted to say thank you always interested in learning some new things. This was good.
Thanks for this . This was good info.
As always great explanation in simple terms
I have read about systems for sleeper trucks to auto start to charge batteries or maintain sleeper temperatures.
Thanks for info!
Ray, get a freebie set of diesel logic and find out for yourself the quality of their products!
Finally, another I can watch. If it is over an hour I don't even bother. Losing channels to watch left and right
You might have tempted fate saying you not ha ing any problems just now.. any ways another great informative video
To check the injectors for leak back do a fuel rail pressure test its one of tbe special funcrions on the scan tool. And also its spelled out in diagnostic as how to check fuel injectors. A pump only creates flow pressure is a result of a resistance to flow and if you have a bad injector or injectors causing high return rates your fuel rail pressure reading will not get to the 34k max.
I'm not a diesel guy whatsoever, but I just bought my uncles 140k mile 94 Ram Cummins being he bought it new. I feel it's a family piece. After warming it up, no matter what the first acceleration has a misfire and smokes but goes away after 30 seconds. I just assume its the injectors from what I know about diesel, but I like the way you describe how things operate!
This is your truck Right. ?
I prefer loner Videos. Your a better watch then TV
All this talk of lift pumps and fuel coolers and injector replacement has me convinced more than ever that I do not want a diesel in my life. I understand that people who need it, need it—but if you don't, you don't. I am definitely one of the "don'ts". If there is ever a time that changes, I will make sure that taking off the valve covers isn't part of injector replacement. Thanks Ray!
Problems with your injectors? Coincidentally just in time for a certain upcoming visit… ? 🤣
A great explanation on the workings of these painful devices. 👍
Dang, very cool and wow, complicated stuff. I was able to follow, but only because of the really clear, organized and detailed explanation.
Let’s talk bout that wire running through the door jam tho 🙄
hello
Ray, you can probably live with those as long as you want, my LBZ has 423K on it with the original CP3 and injectors. It still runs fine and will get 17+ MPG at 75 MPH.
I would like for you to check the balance rates on mine just to compare to yours for chits and grins. If only I was closer to you than Texas!
When the time comes to do your injectors, I'd suggest looking into the metal return line fittings. They tend to be somewhat difficult to get in, and are super easy to break. Personally, I like the return design of the LB7 and L5P… more robust connections.
It may not be from injector. It`s not always from it. You must check for compression first. And if injectors are at -(minus) rates, they are OK! And that cylinder is OK too, because it needs to be "slowed down" for some reason. The problematic cylinders are those with positive numbers, because they must be "fastered up". One more thing, all the numbers in sum, must make 0, or super close to 0. So, my suggestion is to check that cylinder with 7 on it or all the "positive" cylinders, i saw 3 on another. Others are OK. Yes, the injector is still a suspect, but i`m just saying, that it`s not always from it.
🎉 😄 👍 👌
I'm Convinced, I will stick with the Gasser, Don't need a Diesel, don't want one, don't have deep pockets.
GOOD STUFF!! thank you!!
Was that a grinder or table saw I was hearing?
Yeah I smell a trip to Jacksonville for injectors coming.
