  2. I have an 94 nissan sentra se-r. Thing is 25 years old been working on it myself since the previous 2nd owner abused it and the first owner used it for rally racing I had to remove some skid plates on it and I put them back. It has over 265,000 still goes strong. I still need to do body work. I put a ton of news parts in it like new brakes/rotors, brake lines, fuel lines, radiator, starter, exhaust, new belts, new valve cover gasket, tuned it with ngk spark plugs, spark plug wires, distributed with rotor, tires, fixed the hole in passenger floor and the strut towers are rebuilt, put new speakers in as well. I gotta fix the rest of the trunk and the two side skirts then repaint the car and I'm putting in new struts throughout. Edit: I only paid 600 dollars for the car and put only 1000 in it

  3. The thing I don’t agree with Scotty is that cars are constantly evolving and putting technology in them and trying to do different things more efficiently. Yes that car can last long but its so outdated not many features. I mean you can’t buy a brand new car without it having so much technology in them.

  4. You couldn’t find a better 20 year old Nissan? That ones been beat to death, doesn’t even have a drivers door handle. Your hatred for the newer Renault Nissans is a bit excessive – you can find plenty of higher mileage mid to late 2000s Nissans still in decent condition, and they’re not as unreliable as you try to claim.

  5. I will never understand some people's praise of timing chains. Yeah at 100miles if you don't change the belt it might snap. But you can also stretch a chain and damn belts are easy to change.

  6. I can't believe people drink this guy's Kool-Aid. This body style introduced the 2.5L engine that was pure crap. It has serious oil consumption problems. How does that make this engine good?

  7. My fave is the first S.E.-R 1990-94. These look bloated, although 4 doors is handy. I know you don’t like VWs, but my 92 GTI 16v still runs really well with 193k. Had it since it was 7 years old. I order it over modern sport cars.

  8. The last good Nissan is the 06 Infiniti G-35 manual transmission. Great car. 300 hp. Luxurious, 5.9 sec 0 – 60. 25 mpg. LSD. Only 3700 lbs No repairs in 230k miles. Perfect paint. Hell on wheels with the traction control off. Only $35k new, probably $5k now. They don't make em like this anymore. Real Japanese quality.

  9. 2002 SE-R Spec V (Not an 01)
    QR25DE was of Renault design.
    It made 175hp (if that..)
    IT DID HAVE HEADGASKET PROBLEMS.
We still talking about the same car?

  10. Maybe it's the owners driving like maniacs that sends you all the Nissan/Infiniti business? I bought a 2006 G35X, have been driving it like I didn't steal it for the last 13+ years and haven't had a bit of trouble. And yeah, it has an automatic and 4WD.

  11. So many fact incorrect about this video. 2001 Came with a 2.0 liter 5 speed. The 2002+ SER we part of the Renault merger. The 2.5 liter had lots of problems and wasn’t considered reliable compared to Nissans of the past with its oil consumption issues and tendency to swallow catalytic particles and throttle body screws. If this video was about a 2001 Sentra SE then it would of made more sense.

  12. Yep my dad has the old Nissan Frontier truck. Still runs good. It’s 1998 model year. I like the older nissans better.

  13. I had an '03 SER. Kind of miss that car. I have an '05 Outback XT now and its anything but reliable.

Fun fact though – Only the SER Spec V's had the 6 speed manual transmission.

  14. My Dad bought a brand new 2001 Nissan Sentra and it lasted almost 300,00 miles before it started to make really awful noises and shutting off while driving. That little 2.0 engine had a lot of power and was very nimble.

  15. 2000-06 sentra looked ok in the front, sad in the rear. shopping car looks. sadly built in mexico. we had a 1.8 gxe 2001, wasnt impressed. liked motor but nothing else. rust started appearing in all the wrong places after 3 yrs old problems with crankshaft position sensors on it, and poor build.

  16. Not every new Nissan with a CVT is unreliable, that's anecdotal hyperbole. Most run just fine with many miles. If you dont take care of the CVT with OEM FLUID CHANGES EVERY 30K MILES and auxiliary cvt filter changes every 60k than yes, your transmission could fail prematurely. Ill bet my left nut the majority of these issues was owner neglect.

  17. Old Nissans are the best!! My Maxima 2000 is about to reach the 300,000 miles!! And is running like a champ!! No leaks , no oil burning!! Love it!!

  18. Working on a 2006 Sentra SER Spec V project car. Still runs perfect and a blast to drive. Putting a little $$ into it to make it faster!
