  1. Nice find. Some people will throw away anything rather than invest time for maintenance. Being the extra wire spools, gun, and tips were not stripped out indicates whoever tossed this didn't plan to replace it at all.

  2. hello, watched your video and thank you for the info! @51:20 the welder made that noise i asked about in my other comment. what is the cause of that noise? it happened as you were welding the backside of the square tubing. . . . thanks again. im starting to think my wire feed speed was too high and heat setting too high for thin metal i was working with. amateur here if you couldnt tell by my question.
    .
*UPDATE* . . . i tried firing up the machine after putting a new tip on the gun , slightly loosening the nut on the wire spool , clamped down onto some raw clean 11 gauge 1 x 1 tubing , and immediately without using the gun the machine made the low hum noise , popped and slight smoke came out of the box. i removed the cover and noticed the big green (ground cable?) wire was disconnected from its solder connection. is this worth re-soldering or get rid of this machine? lincoln pro mig 135 just doing flux core welding.

  3. HELP! my pro mig 135 just started making a low humming struggling noise while welding. the breaker of the house tripped. the internal breaker of the machine tripped later on once trying to weld again. any thoughts? thanks for the help anyone

  4. We had the 110 i think. It came with a buisiness we bought out. Great machine. It had the gas and the tig setup. The wire feed board died and no longer available. Went to sun n fun air fest and lincold booth had a hell of a deal on new model for $600. I got the spool gun wirh it. Its $2500 now! It does mig, tig, stick and spool. Awesome little machine.

  5. Aloha Mustie1. What you need to lubricate the plastic shaft of the current setting knob is some 303 Aerospace Protectant. It is wonderful for lubricating plastic and rubber, and it will not only lubricate the plastic pieces, but it will prevent the white decomposed plastic that was binding up the switch shaft. Some 303 Aerospace Protectant on that knob shaft and the bore it is in will make this switch work for many years without the knob shaft deteriorating and binding up. I use 303 Aerospace Protectant on lots of my stuff here. It is wonderful for rubber of any kind too. The CV joint boots on my Chevy HHR SS are the original CV joint boots that were on the car when I bought it new in 2009, and that vehicle now has 222,000 miles on it. I spray 303 on the CV joint boots every time I change the oil in the car, and those boots have no cracking at all and they are nice and supple. I will continue to use 303 on those boots to see just how many miles they will last. The 303 seals the plastic and prevents it from drying out and decomposing, and that makes it last a very long time. Try it, you will like it. Usually, oil on plastic items make them go soft and fail, but the 303 is designed to protect and lubricate plastic as well as rubber items.

  6. Just saw this video

You are very knowledgeable with welders. I have a year 2000 ish Lincoln 140. Approx 10 hours. And now it will not arc!? A repair shop is too far away from me. Any suggestions for me … I've opened it up. All looks visually good. I'm lost. 😢

  7. There is a kit you can buy to add MIG gas to it. It is typically listed in manual. Also, there is a screw in the center of the spool/tensioner shaft where you can adjust nylon tension screw force on wire.

  8. It’s amazing what people throw in the Trash. I’ve been Dumpster Diving for years. I could open my own store filled with quality stuff. I think a lot of this stuff ends up in the trash due to marital and relationship breakups. “I hate him and I’m throwing all his shit out”. Sad kinda 😢

  9. picked a lincoln electric 180 dual power mig from the dump a few months ago, apperently worth 4k cad new. Sat outside for half a year, brought it in and re-wired the plug, and now it turns on. Also found a locally made minifridge sized LKS welder that weighs something in the nieghborhood of 400lbs, no fan. found em both at the same time right next to each other in my hometown dump. Plan on ordering new leads for the lincoln, and depending on if I can get the LKS running and welding, I might buy some good long used leads for it. Originally planned on scrapping both for the copper, but trash can turn to treasure real quick if you're willing to put in some troubleshooting and tlc. Love the vids, keep it up!

  10. Hi. Was wondering do you still have that Lincoln weld pak 100? I have the same type of welder. I think the problem you were having with that welder voltage is with the "Votage Control Switch Assembly " may be either bad switch or a small 1"×1/4" copper piece with a square center may have fell off off of the voltage control switch assembly from inside of the welder. The voltage control switch assembly part # M15750. I have had my Weld Pak 100 for over 17 years, but i am now having voltage control issues and wire speed issues. I think i can fix mine if i can find the parts for it online.

  11. I absolutely love your videos ,You have to be one of the handiest people on YouTube for sure, but with that being said , you can't convert AC to DC with a transformer, That's done after the voltage is stepped down with a rectifier, usually a full bridge rectifier.
