550hp ZR-1 vs 550hp Z06

Two of the closest street races races I’ve seen between two evenly matched Corvettes, one stock ZR-1 and one bolt on and cammed Z06, doesn’t get a whole lot closer than this!

  1. i have a Z but im a Vette lover at heart, that's a mild cam z06, this is not the HCI Zs that are doing over 600 to the wheels, would've of been a much different story but he should've edged out the ZR1 with no problem having less weight and a better powerband. bad shifting on Z0 owner.

  2. im a big chevy fan and i thought these came with 638 hp. maybe i am blind or just dont remember correctly but im pretty sure its not 550hp.

  3. The first race he was the correct gear ..then he started in 3rd at 60 mph the z06 should be in 2nd and with HCI the hp should be in 700 fly 600 wheel ..

  4. It amazes me how many of you know jack shit and just write the stupidest things on here.Dont you realize people read what you write and you look so stupid.

  5. Very impressed with that ZR1 hanging like that…I was sure the Z06 would slowly pull away with more peak power and less weight…Not to mention a powerband tailored for a high speed roll like the one in the vid.  Great vid.

  6. nicetry64, 505 is a bout a 20% drive train loss…. 15% loss would equate to about 540rwhp.  Many are getting 530-540 depending on dyno conditions, which is on target.

  7. @nicetry64 The day a stock supercharged 638hp ZR1 can only put down 505 RWHP, figuring in with drivetrain loss, is simply the day my shit turns purple & smells like rainbow sherbet. 550 RWHP out of a ZR1 is pretty much dead on. It's not like a truck; in which looses upwards of 120hp+ from the crank to the rear wheels…
