  1. Guys it’s YouTube having problems not my vid. Try skipping ahead to 7:00 if you get stopped, that seems to be working for people. If it continues, perhaps logout and back in. I know there was a recent app update… ugh 😑

  2. I have 240watts of solar power on my roof-rack with a 100ah battery in the trunk.
I wonder how long we could use the torqamp for, and how long it would take for my car to charge it back up.

  3. So donut recently did a video on electric turbos, and they said that there's a such thing as an electric ASSISTED turbo, which is a regular turbo with an intake and exhaust side that is also connected to an electric motor to spool up the turbo and basically eliminate turbo lag. I cant find one from googling it.

  4. If it isn't running on batteries not from your car, please do not buy an electric turbo. They use weak motors and sell them for extortionate prices. The parts in any one kit probably don't even cost a hundred to make. If you can modify your car to generate serious power like 5-10 KW, then build yourself one out of a 1/5 scale rc motor. Compare 200w kit to 10,000w motor and you'll see real differences for what should cost you only $150.

  5. If it outputs more cfm/lbs per min than the engine is currently consuming at each runner then you should make positive manifold pressure and that should make more hp/tq… Its basic math and physics

  6. Boy the term electric turbo just rubs me the wrong way a turbo or turbochargers correct name is a turbo supercharger hence the term turbo or meaning powered by a turbine a piece if turbo machinery electric supercharger is the correct name for this anything not powered by a turbine is not a turbo

  7. Have you ever thought about taking a regular turbo. Instead of hooking up the exhaust to it. Run a leaf blower to the exhaust side. Leaf blowers like the ryobi battery powered one put out roughly 650 cfm of air. That's the same amount of air produced by a 500 hp v8. So theoretically a leaf blower puts out about the same amount of cfm in air as the exhaust on a 500 hp v8. Meaning you could run a normal turbo with no need for an intercooler. Because there is no hot exhaust gas flowing through it. It would be interesting to see how many psi you could get from that set up.

I've only seen people try to hook a leaf blower directly to the air intake tube. I've never seen anyone try and hook a leaf blower up to the hot side of a normal turbo. Give it a try guys hot might be real surprised by the results. If it works you could have a set up like that to prevent turbo lag. 🤷🏼‍♂️

  8. But what if you put double the volts into the torque amp? Most electric motors will run just fine on 2x or 3x their rated voltage…

  9. I’m not going to lie, that little electric turbo is very cool. Price tag and all, it’s a crowd pleaser, I like it. Makes me happy being an Electrical Engineer seeing some electric boost lol

  10. How does it work on a turbo engine? Electric hooks to the air intake of the turbo? Or the electric delivers directly to the intake in paralell?

  11. I hope you take the Cobalt as far as you can. Keep testing the electric turbos performance in this small capacity. Next get more income by upping cubic inches and turbo sizes. You guys may have started a new category of performance car .Hopped up Hybrids. Too cool

  12. So what would happen if you put it in line with an existing factory turbo? Like using the electric turbo until the mechanical turbo kicks in, or run it at the same time as the mechanical turbo. I’m just curious.

  13. I'm don't have a lab coat or anything but when you go from n/a to turbo aren't you supposed to decompress the engine or something? I know it worked but wouldn't that be more effective or something. And use an air filter lol you might suck up children and small animals
