Sunroof? Should just call it what it really is in this case, it is an "escape hatch!"
If the fire started under the hood then it could have traveled through a break in the windshield up high on the headliner and then progressed downward through the interior. The firewall would have suppressed most of the fire until it got hot enough on the inside to ignite behind the dash so if there was a break in the windshield or it just melted then the headliner would go first. It just looks like they destroyed the trans, slid and bumped into something and that other something caught fire first. I say that because it looks like the fire progressed from the very front, to the engine and then back into the interior.
