  1. Lower (stiffer and lighter) suspension kit + lighter set of rims should do the tricks to achieve a better time, but yeah, at this point the aero factor can't be ignored.
A carbon fiber body kit looking like the Mclaren Speedtail would be insane on that Plaid, but in that case the windshield and this safety cage would need to be replaced too.

  2. Lighter wheels and tires would help a lot too by reducing rotating mass. I would try that with as sticky and light of a tire I could use before doing any aero and then try the body mods in another video. That way you can see what affects the time more.

  3. Talk to a proffessional about the batteries. Might be a way to half the battery to reduce more weight. Power will still be there but range will take a hit … i think.

  4. What did you expect, it looked so much better with the outer wheel arches on , there are no clean smooth lines the aero is none existent, you need clean air flow from front all the way out of the back , get a roof and side panels on it, both e Roy and leroy need clean covered body panels

  5. You guys need to look into some Orion electric speed controllers! Drop half the battery pack keeping the same voltage (will reduce so much weight) cause you don't need driving range at the drag strip!
You could essentially "shorted" the under body if the battery pack dimensions are reduced (definitely doable)
You also need to do all the sensor drops that Chet did (traction control is dropping so much power out of the car) and then drag slicks on some bead lockers.
This thing would easily go 7s
This dude will be able to help you mod controllers too (and he's a Honda dude)

  6. dead ass get a lighter and wider tire, or a lighter rim for sure with a sticky tire. tesla rims are heavy af, you could save 10 pounds per tire

  7. at some point getting rid of the full width glass and making it like the arial atom with a bullet cone front. Then maybe a jet fighter canopy could increase wind performance.

  8. Who’d thought taking aero off of one of the lowest drag coefficient cars would slow it down 😅 Loving this series guys 😀 Glad you’re enjoying the Tesla

  9. U should find out if there's a way to like split the battery in half or whatever. so u could pull half of it out. That would prob be close to the same amount of weight u already have out.

  10. Put a front air damn on it improve the front aero. Then take it to a tunnel tester to get the air better. Then put drag radials on all 4 corners.

  11. Congrats, that close fitting bar over the top of the windshield is really messing with the aerodynamics as well. It's messing with the air flowing over and then through the open car, which is creating drag. Anything to smooth out the front end will as you say help as well. The car has 1050hp and at the weight it is there is a mathematical limit on how fast it can go.

  12. I would put a thin sheet of metal in all the triangles and especially the roof and the front. once it knows how to handle the lower weight this will go
