If you’ve been following all the GTR madness lately, you’ve probably heard the name John Sheppard somewhere along the line. At the very least, you’ve likely heard of Sheptrans. They set the bar for GTR transmission rebuilds with their trusted reliability and exceptional service. Despite his popularity, we didn’t expect to see the man himself racing his Alpha16 GT-R at Tx2k17 – let alone DOMINATE his class! Hopefully, we’ll see more racing from John later on down the road!

  1. If you see 4 hoosier tires on a skyline you know your in trouble. Also i thought you need a single seated rollcage for the driver.

  4. First of all. It is John "Shepherd". Not "Sheppard". He is a DSM legend and I looked up to him back when I first got my 92 Eagle Talon. Great to see him around the drag racing scene!

  6. I love to see John still at it. First 8 second dsm, fastest street legal gtr, no big deal. Oh by the way, pretty sure most of those other guys are running his running gears lol.

  7. A Bugatti Chiron makes 1500 and is street legal. How is this surprising? HP has absolutely nothing to do with a car being street legal.

  8. Love the stock location class, adds a very interesting twist to the racing. We all know the GTR platform can do whatever your budget will allow for, so it's cool to have stipulation races like this to keep the competition alive.

  30. Sure, that was damn fast- but it was so damn boring too. They just aren't exciting unless your driving, even then they're missing the analogue feel of the earlier GTR's. And there's no man pedal option
