  1. It sucks working on a dirty motor. I would have just charged the person for cleaning the motor. Plus….he gonna sell the car after the swap… he would get alittle more $ if it was clean dont you think?

  2. I have 04 Acura TL automatic. I’m going to swap it into 04 v6 accord manual. I am going to use accord 6 speed. I was wondering if the j32a3 automatic wiring harness will plug into j30a4 manual ecu? Do I have to swap the j30a4 manual wiring harness onto the j32a4 automatic engine? Or do I need to buy a j32a3 manual wiring harness. I’ve visited the forums and was told the j30a4 ecu will run the j32a3.

  3. The biggest mistake of all are in this segment. Eric does not use torque wrench on any of the fasteners on this engine, he just slammed them with the impact wrench or drill. There is a reason that the manufacturers have torque specs on each and every fasteners on the engine, transmission and the chassis. If you don't observe any of the torque specs, the bolts or nuts are either not tight enough or too tight that will be damaged as the engine runs. The longevity of this car is next to nil, given how little care it got. In many past videos, Eric really paid attention to torque specs, even for a valve clearance adjustment job. I guess he compromised too much this time because the job is flat rate but he risks his integrity and reputation on this job. Between the bad catalytic converter and the broken side engine mount, the car would not pass safety and emission inspection. His hands are tied because he accept the job flat rate. He should never took the job like this that he knew going in that there could be many bad parts on the car given it was not even running. The old engine was severely neglected, many parts and sensors could have been damaged. I'd say, though, Eric has very good memory of what he removed and what he has to put back. Think of him as the surgeon for your car, if he left something out or leaving something behind, it will be your bad day. He was wrong though, calling the bolts that he installed from the bottom of the subframe as engine mounts, they were actually transmission mounts. There are two of these at the bottom of the tranny and one on top. similar to my 7th Gen Accord. The only difference between this car and my car is this car engine is slightly larger at 3.2L vs. 3.0L and this car tranny is a 6sp stick vs. 5sp auto. Another thing that Eric should have done is to replace the timing belt, pulley, tensioner and even water pump of the replacement engine. You don't know what kind of mileage it has, it does not take much time to replace all the components while the engine is outside of the car and fully accessible.

  6. Eric, I always enjoyed your videos. However, you disappointed me when you raised the engine by hooking one side to manifold. You aren't supposed to put all that much weight on albumin, man!.

  7. Hey Eric, I have a 2006 acura tl and I eventually will have to change out the clutch. In the service manual there is a tool that compresses the pressure plate while you torque down the pressure plate bolts. Is it safe to install the pressure plate without this tool or does the pressure plate have to be engaged for proper installation. (reason why I'm asking is because I havent seen a video that covers the topic in detail)

  8. Sir erick how are you? I have an acura tl 2005 and we change the engine but the transmission is not the same as the green light of d is on and the car runs as in third. What could be wrong installed?

  9. It's obvious u didn't want to do this engine swap. Your heart wasn't in it and you didn't enjoy a bit of it.also I wouldn't buy that car from the guy afterwards what with that clutch and cat etc etc. 👍Great video Eric.

  12. I agree with you, it's super important to tighten ground wires. I was having error codes going over 3.5k rpm once when I got my car and it turned out to be a lose ground wire and the computer would disengage the vtec and go into limp mode to protect the motor from damaging its self.

  13. How do you break a Honda J32 motor with a manual transmission. The owner has no love for this car he drove it into the ground. You're such a nice guy Eric. Having a V6 Acura myself I am learning a lot from you in these and I want to thank you again for the time you took to show us this.

  14. As Friendly Robot mentioned those shackles are effective mount failure protection in case you cannot swap them out right away or need a few months to save up for the repair. My 2010 TSX 3.5l for Part# 50830-TP1-A01 cost over $500 so it took me a while to save up for the set and labor costs. Since it's a different bolt pattern than the Honda Odyssey and Acura TL and uses a different hydraulic connector than the Accord v6 I'm stuck buying OEM since there is no Chinese aftermarket for this part.

  15. It is amazing you guys can deal with the complexity of modern engines. I see your point of having the right tools for the job. I wish modern cars were less complex with larger engine compartments to make your and our job easier.
