This cabin air filter replacement video applies to the forth generation Hyundai Elantra (2006-2010). Some parts of this video will apply to other Hyundai models.

It’s a simple process and doesn’t require a lot of tools. It can also save you a great deal of money replacing this maintenance item yourself. Not to mention it will help keep the air inside your vehicle free from contaminants.

The average replacement interval is every 15K, sometimes as low as 10K based on the air quality where the vehicle is being used.

  1. I did get it done and those clips stink. I think one thing about the removal that I might know is that you can't have the glove box all the way open. The video mentions that on the re-assembly, but I think it's a problem in the removal, too. I used a screwdriver to pry the clips out enough to get my fingers on it.

  2. Fantastic–love how short and to-the-point this was. Told and showed me what I needed and nothing else. Checked my filter, and sure enough, it's filthy. Already ordered the replacement :).

  3. Look at the direction of the pleats in the filter that was removed, now look at the direction of the pleats when installing the new filter.

  4. Looks like the Elantra has a slightly better design than the Sonata. I have a 2008 Sonata, and the filter cover has clips on both ends, and both clips are broken so it is a real chore to get that cover off.
