2006-2012 Hyundai Santa Fe Cabin Air Filter Replacement -EricTheCarGuy

This cabin air filter replacement procedure will apply to the second generation (2006-2012) Hyundai Santa Fe vehicles. Some parts of the procedure may apply to other Santa Fe’s as well.

It’s a simple process and doesn’t require a lot of tools. It can also save you a great deal of money replacing this maintenance item yourself. Not to mention it will help keep the air inside your vehicle free from contaminants.

The average replacement interval is every 15K, sometimes as low as 10K based on the air quality where the vehicle is being used.

Very difficult. I couldn’t even do the first step of squeezing to detach the glove box. This video was useless

air filter & found that the tabs that free the air filter were broken as in your video. I can’t get the old filter out. How does it happen that your filter slid out so easily. Show us how!

Thanks for posting. I called my Hyundai dealers first just to check the price to replace the cabin filter. $35 plus tax. Autozone and do it myself with an STP brand filter. $20. Autozone wins.

Hey people, stop complaining about the "Extra Clean" on the window : ) When you clean your car, do you take apart the door panels and remove all the compartments? I'm pretty sure "clean" here refers to the interior that gets normal use. But in any case, he obviously cares about the quality and cleanliness of the car, or we wouldn't have this gem of a video.

Hyundai tried to charge me $150 to change cabin filter just now. Told them no ill do it myself for $25.

Local auto shop tried to charge me $74 to change my air filter and cabin air filter. I'm like I can save about $50 by myself

Thanks for this quick and simple tutorial. Our hyundai dealer wanted to charge us $44 for this filter change and we got the part for a quarter of that and 2 minutes of my time, half of which was spent emptying and refilling the glove box.

typical, the filter is as nasty as most Hyundai owners. No one should ever buy a cheap-a*s car USED. It's junk already.

you dont need to remover the damper on the glove box. if you remove the 2 clips it will hold it at 90 deg angle keeping stuff in glove box from falling

IT amazes me how few people know about cabin air filters.. they always think I'm trying to sell them something they don't need. when I have the customer available, I actually show them where the filter is located. I also tell them it is also mentioned in their owners guide. I wish people would take the time to read them…

So much for "Extra Clean". Buyer beware!

What brand of air filters are you using in these videos Eric?

That square hole at 0:59 looked like it was terribly cut..

"never been changed before" ~tabs were broken. it must have been changed and for it to be that dirty after being changed, I wonder how the car is "extra clean".
