  1. Hi I’m thinking about buying a rebuilt Audi A3 with 53,000 miles it was wrecked and rebuilt at 20,000 miles would you recommend buying the car I’m 19 and want the car to last at least to 90,000 miles

  2. Does this replacing of the seats from OEM to Racing Seats pass CHP inspection as I'm about to have one for a salvage vechicle project of mine. Should I just leave the OEM seats with side airbags until inspection is done and over with before I change to racing seats….I already got a pair of racing seats which I've been wanting to install. Does this have anything to do with a CHP inspection ? Really ! Please let me know Thanks

  3. Came back to see how to get my salvage truck inspected. After 3 years of watching you I can't believe I have my own project car thanks to you Sam.

  4. I have a 2007 A4 that I replaced the rear bumper cover but not the actual bumper (inside the cover) Think the troopers will see the crack in the inner bumper and fail it?

  5. Selling a 2017 Audi S3 in NY/PA/NJ Area. Will ship for right buyer. Stage 1+ DSG+TCU tuned and tasteful aftermarket parts. Low mileage and well maintained let me know if you are interested.

  6. Hey I was wondering my salvage car has a title from NC do I have to return to a NC inspection dmv or can I do it in NJ?

  7. So glad that you are doing this. My A3 is a rebuild and is the best car I have ever owned. Totally would love to do this more. Any tips on raising capital to get started.

  8. Sam, it's funny how different inspections are there and here. I'm in Alberta, Canada and salvage inspections here are INSANELY intense. They inspect everything, well beyond what was actually repaired / replaced due to accident damage. As an example, I bought an older Ford F250 (bad idea, but no time to get into it) which was written off due to damage from being broken into. The only things damaged in that event were the door handles, door locks, and ignition. Later I found out that, during the salvage inspection, they're required to look at everything including cracks in the windshield, leaking hoses, brake component life, parking brake operation, etc, etc, etc. As a result, what I thought would be an easy starter project ended up costing me $5000 in mechanic work on unrelated issues (wear & tear from age) after I had already done the repairs I thought would be needed!
Now I have a truck that is ALMOST as bad a story as your Money Pit Jetta… only difference is that even though I'm definitely going to lose money, it runs and drives VERY well! Hope my second project (a 2011 Cadillac CTS) has better results!
    Thanks for your videos!

  9. When going to inspection. If a frame rail was hit but then repaired. (i.e. DIY chain around a tree and put that puppy in reverse to straighten it out) how in detail do they look at it? This isn't meant to be a daily driver and I'm not selling it but it's a drift car that would be cool to have a street legal if my daily ever breaks so I can get parts for my daily. anyway its a 2003 g35 so it's pretty old too. Also, one more question I had a donor car for the parts because the other car was at the end of its life. How do I document those repairs with another car's parts from in house?

  10. Hey Sam, I hope you'll get a chance to read my question. Great videos by the way. I'm a mechanic and would love to own a luxury car….for cheap and rebuilt by my own hands. Question, what if you rebuild and work most of it yourself? You may have the receipts for parts but labor wise was done by yourself? How does that play out in the inspection? Thank you for your time in advance!

  11. Samcrac, once again great video! Thanks for all the work you put in on these videos they are loaded with tons great information. keep the content coming!
