CREE LED Headlight Installation 1992 Acura Vigor -EricTheCarGuy

When my friend Luke from Motor Fiend asked me if I’d like to try a new set of LED lights for my 1992 Acura Vigor I said heck yes. This is honestly the easiest lighting upgrade I’ve ever done. It’s literally plug and play. Expensive though as you’ll see below. Yes, I’m aware that I did not attach the ballasts to the inside of the vehicle. I do plan to get some adhesive pads to secure them in the very near future. Sorry I didn’t show that in the video.

Lastly be sure that you’re legally allowed to install a kit like this in your vehicle before you purchase the kit. Nothing would suck more than getting busted after you spend all that money on a new set of lights. Also, be sure to properly aim the headlights when you’re done. You might even point them down a little to help reduce glare to oncoming drivers. Please respect the other people on the road.

  1. Hi Eric, my car has headlight bulb with H4 adapter and base of P36T. but most of the H4 adapter type bulbs in market has P43T base. any method to solve this proble?

  2. eric i got a question for my honda civic 1999 , i installed a led h4 kit do i need to remove the bulb shield from inside the headlight ? maybe have better performance or so , what u think ?

  3. The link to the headlines is no longer working. Wondering if it has been discontinued–is there a new product that came out that replaces these? How have they held up these past 3 years?

So I tried to install a set of LED's on my Ford Ranger, and the dimmer switch and dash lighting turned off after install. Anyone ever had this issue? I don't have a canbus system on the truck so I am not sure why the dimmer would be affected by the headlights.

  5. what if you have plastic dust covers on the back of the headlight…will it need to be drilled, if so what size would the hole have to be for a H4 dual beam?

  6. Nice introduction but fairly devoid of factual terms and data. A change in color temperature (yellow to blue-white) is not "significantly brighter" by itself. You really needed to have used a light meter calibrated at the same distance to provide "real" data that would permit someone to accurately gauge the changes.

  7. That's a lot of glare! Too many people are doing this and they do not realize that a halogen housing is made for a halogen bulb and nothing else. Look at the light pattern when you have a halogen on one side and an led on the other. Sure, the led is brighter, but the halogen bulb is focused where it should be. The led is scattered = glare. All you're doing is blinding other drivers by doing this. You're not even helping yourself see better since the light isn't focused as it should be. The optics of a halogen housing simply do not work with an led because the led does not produce light the same way. That is all.

  8. 3m makes an industrial type Velcro that is extremely strong, it's the same on both sides and the sticky has held a heavy security camera for 6 years and still strong. I feel that's better than double sided adhesive. stuff is awesome but pricey

  9. can you do a video where you go on a test run to see the visibility of these bulb. i tried these led saying to have more lumen. but not as much when tested. ended up with 55w AC canbus HID 8k in a projector housing. i wanted more lux illumination covering up the ground like my 2016 e350 with LED headlight. and not glaring anyone if you know what i mean.

  10. I try to install hid headlights kit on my Honda accord 1996 but they are not working. I order new kit and tried changing the polarity but still they didn't work?

  11. the lights don't seem brighter. the color make them seem brighter hence color temperature blue.blue tint makes any light seem brighter comparing two the old light had more beam on the line. just my two cents.

  12. Why did you make it out to seem like HID kits are harder to install. They install the same way, and are plug and play. Bothe HIDs and LEDs have a ballast, with what looks like the same type of plug. So what exactly is harder about installing HIDs vs the LEDs? Seems like the exact same process, plus HIDs work better in projectors, as well as not taking up so much space. Those LED bulbs were huge, and definitely wont fit a lot of vehicles without modification.

  13. Hey Eric, how is the throw on these L.E.D headlights?.. i want to upgrade from HID's so im doing my reasearch before i purchase anything.

  14. Hey I've had the hardest time finding out answers to the legality of LED headlights in Texas, if anyone knows please let me know, I really want to do a conversion on my car.

  15. I made this same upgrade to my brother's 2006 Pilot and I must say that I am very pleased with the results. I'm still waiting on the high beams to come because they sent me the incorrect sized bulbs, so Luke is sending me another one. I also got the fog light kit which I will probably install this weekend since that is a more involved job. As for the ballast I did the same thing with the adhesive pads below the headlight assembly, and as another preventative measure I also used some heavy duty air duct tape. not a big deal, it's strong tape and appearance doesn't matter to me since it will never be visible to the naked eye. I can't wait to get the rest of the bulbs in, but already I'm very satisfied with the results. The total amount with the Black Friday savings ended up costing $287.87, plus free express shipping. From what I've been told, that's a pretty fair deal for what I got with all 3 separate kits (high & low beams, and fog lights).

  16. Which the exception of Phillips, H4 LEDs generally lack a lower low beam shield that halogen's have, or a Casper shield some H4 HIDs have. Did you have to deal with upper glare? And if so how did you solve it?

  17. Thanks for the professional video, very useful before buying LED headlights. There are too many LED headlights seller on Amazon and eBay, I found the OPT7 & New Brightness are the top seller on Amazon, they got many buyers review and positive feedback, but the price is about US$100, expensive…
Other seller sell only at US$50(http://www.amazon.com/dp/B014M0MOF2), though they said in promotion, and could return with no cost if any problem, and all will be protected by Amazon policy, anybody can give me some suggestion which LED headlights is better?
PS: My car is 2015 Toyota Sienna SE.
