Lately I’ve been in love with my 1979 Ford Fairmont. I’m sure the first question would be, “why?” and with good reason. The Fairmont is likely not the first car you think of when the words ‘hot rod’, or ‘street machine’ get tossed out.
Not many people are aware that the Fairmont is a fox body which shares the same chassis with a Mustang. That means all the parts you can get for a Mustang, will fit on the Fairmont. The idea is to make it a ‘sleeper’, a car that looks slow but goes fast.
