  1. Eric great video, very poud of you for setting a great example, inspiring others to be successful, and go out and achieve more.

Also, as you are well aware, the ASE TESTING has improved tremendously over the years and even the questions are getting caught up with the times.

Moreover, I don't think people understand who actually writes the questions for ASE, UMMM…other EXPERIENCED VETERAN Tech's who have been in the business for years guys-just a reminder that it is not some desk jockey who fixes cars as a hobbyist!

Side note: if you're attitude towards being CERTIFIED is that it's a joke, well if that's the case are you done with all of yours yet or are you still making excuses for your laziness? If it's a joke and so easy then you should be done with it right-to include your L1-L3?

I don't know, always find this thinking to be comical! CUT THE CRAP AND JUST GET IT DONE ALREADY! Take your job seriously and be a professional about it! Excuses are like assholes, everyone has one!

I'm done with all of mine in case you're wondering, and I fix cars, diagnose cars, and have been doing it for enough years to know that the guys making excuses or saying that they don't think they matter are really just unwilling to do what it takes to be successful.

Here's a link about how I feel about ASE's from my 19 years doing this as a career tech…take it or leave it, but I don't understand why people don't understand that these help you grow and become better at what you do for a living:

  2. i seen ase master tech having a hard timing doing valve covers on cars.haha lol. but see non ase tech better at it. lol. i rather have someone who can do the job then have a certificate. just my thinking.

  3. Those Ford cars and trucks are designed to be expensive to fix… they should have changed the design if a lift is required to get at the engine, they must hate when people have all the tools and knowledge to fix their own vehicles.

  4. Congrats Eric . But my thoughts on ASE are a joke . You can be book smart and pass the test but not know what a lug nut is

  5. Hey Eric, I was wondering there are two different ASE INSIGNIA PATCHES the auto technician and master auto technician. I know that you need A1-A8 to have the master status. So, how does someone get the regular auto technician patch? Thanks!

  6. Hey Eric, does the people who send out the ASE certifications and everything else send you a warning that your certifications is about to expire and everything about where and when you can take the tests?

  7. Haha, I stumbled across that diesel a couple months ago, epic. Heater cores are a headache…especially the Chrysler ones it seems. Did one on a friends car a couple years back, get it all back together to find out one of the blend door arms broke off.. Anyway, congrats on the recert of the ASE. Stay dirty Eric.

  8. @oopsman100 Hello UK! We can drop the formalities as it makes me feel a bit 'uncomfortable' but I'm very happy to hear that my videos have helped you in some way as that was my intention from the beginning, to help others. Thanks very much for your fantastic comment.

  9. Lifting the body is not as bad as you would think, its the easiest and or only way you can do many diesel pickups including powerstrokes.

  10. In my opinion, JDM with a USDM engine is a no no. It's like a Japanese guy needing a heart transplant and an American donor gives one. It's weird. JDM, stay JDM. USMD, stay USDM, etc etc.

  11. Congrats on your ASE Master recert, makes me proud to witness another auto tech staying current. I am going to the fall '11 session testing session. Not everyone would have the motivation to recert, part of the population simply doesn't believe in it, enough of that subject. I have ASE myself, yet at the same time I don't intend to be arrogant about it. congrats

  12. I would hate to know how much it cost to replace that heater core if they had to take the dash apart and take the body off too. I bet it was thousands of dollars

  13. The shop I work at has gained a reputation around town for people to bring those fords to me to work on. I actually kind of enjoy it. I am a gluten for punishment I suppose. But after doing a few, it actually gets pretty easy. Those and the damn timing chains on 2.7 chryslers. the dealer here in toledo wont even touch those…

  14. @hjsantiago1981 I had that thought myself when I started out but I have no regrets about getting into automotive, I would like more diesel experience however. Thanks for the comment.

  15. @2008silvy It does seem to take them a while but perhaps with the new computerized testing things will be faster and smoother. Thanks for the comment.

  16. @JTheGuitarPlayer I'm actually hoping to steer my work towards education as time goes on, I really enjoy making these videos and the interaction with the fans. Thanks for your support and for your comments.

  17. @fenixflat1 Eso es una mierda, no estoy seguro de cómo funcionan los "internacionales" lado de las cosas, pero tal vez es posible que desee enviar un correo electrónico directamente a ver lo que tienen que decir.
