    No it is not

    Power is lost in the torque converter which makes you use more fuel.
    If the transmission breaks on an auto it will cost more to repair it than a manual
    Automatics are also more heavy than the manual counterparts
    More weight means you use more fuel add to the extra fuel autos use, you spend more money on automatics

    plus lets not forget the extra $2000 you can spend on getting an automatic version of the same car.

  3. I would love to be able to hear a noise and know what it is. There's so many different noises coming from cars and it's so hard for me to pinpoint what each noise is.
