Final Fixes For the 2003 Nissan Sentra -Fixing it Forward

I can see how this might be confusing, so I’ll do my best to explain. The parts of the video where I replace the cam and crank sensors was shot just after Jerry picked up the car in early December 2015. The part where I replace the control arm and air tube were shot in late March 2016.

I realize this may be a bit confusing, but I wanted the series to end after the final video. I didn’t want to have to come back with another video AFTER the final video which will air next week. This way the series concludes with the next episode.

  1. That bottom sensor was a cheap eBay pos. These should measure 700-900ohms, the one I took out from mine measured only 360 ohms which caused the timing to fail. Buy original parts!

  2. on the 1.8 Sentra i had to use a 3 foot prybar with a 3 foot jack handle and a sledgehammer to get that plastic sensor out. Craziest thing i ever saw for a little plastic part….

  3. I replaced the bushings on the sway bar for my 2005 Nissan Sentra but the sway bar and rack and pinion are making contact and I here a noise when I go over bumps what could be the problem now. Thanks in advance

  4. I have an issue with my 02' sentra se-r spec v has no CEL, seems like a limp mode but when I give it gas it only sputters and wants to stall.

    -Some things ive checked/fixed
    1.Fuel pump comes on
    2.new belt
    3.headers w/o cat
4.secondary cat not(monitored) still on (possible clog?)
    5.TPS Functions with active data
6.MAF has been replaced/cleaned (got snow on my my intake and caused an CEL limp) Fixed that
    7.Replaced cam/crank sensors
8.I noticed Fuel Pressure Regulator line was disconnected and the problem occurred after reconnecting it. After dicon again still weird limp no CEL.

Any Advice would help. I cant even drive it because it stalls in gear.
Its like a really bad 2step that kills the engine

  5. For people who get confused: The extras after the GRAND FINALE video were put in this video before the GRAND FINALE… so that the series would end on an actual GRAND FINALE video episode (the next FIF episode)… Hope I helped 🙂

  6. Hi Eric just I have an issue with my 05 Nissan Sentra 1.8 idle issues throttle body still having issues with the idle and gas mileage is has decreased I was looking for the air temperature sensor I can't find it can you help with this

  7. I have a 2004 Nissan sentra, was wrecked on passanger side finder/door, car runs great be for and after, but when I press the gas pedal my car has no excleration my rpm only goes up a quarter of the way over 1rpm

  8. Can u help me out I havea 2005 nissian sentra 1.8 s have a evap code and I have idle issues. The code I was getting was a po455 I replaced purge solenoid and vent valve on the canister.now I get po441 code and a idle code.stuck replaced fuel pump gasket thinking it was leajing vapor.but still have code aftwr clearing it lines look good.also hearing a whining noise or weird sound while car is running coming from under car near tank.whats could it be.

  9. Sad part is this whole thing was a waste of money. These first generation 2.5s have serious issues if left stock for high miles. They suck in precat material and the intake screws come loose and also get sucked in. Basically fucking up the cylinder walls and causing oil burning, loss of compression, etc.

  10. I have a 2003 Nissan Sentra you can work on it’s a xe it’s in good shape needs a really good tune up I do believe so with the money I do get I do what I can I done spark plugs on it and next is my struts I can’t figure out why it makes a little bet of a knocking noise as I am in idle but the most annoying sound is my humming I get but I think that from my snow tires

  11. Thee is 2 temp sensors one for the computer and one for the qauge. Sometimes under 30deg outside the one for the computer fails and gives a crank no start condition.
Mainly on 1.8L engine. But the 2.5 does it to.

  12. could one remove the O-ring completely off those crank sensors if stubborn and put a little RTV sealant on them………………might try that next time.

  13. I know this is a 2 + year old video, but the cam and crank sensor I hope it's not buried in the engine somewhere. I'm currently watching the video that's why I'm making this comment. You're switching from Electric 2 pneumatic tools, I wish I could but some douchebag stole my air compressor hose and impact wrench from my parents garage.

  14. That's a QR25DE engine. The crank and cam angle sensors fail every 120 to 180 thousands kilometers. You are meant to change them both as they share the same life span. Good job and thank you Eric for showing us such a complicated job!

  15. Eric i got a question for you. Ive replaced many engines in my day but i have a 07 nissan versa and ive been told i need to drop the engine instead of pulling it up with a hoist….is this true?

  16. My Nissan 2003 just passed away this morning …Preston all over the place…Found out frame is rotten and cracked .Just put 800$ On it a month ago….What a saaad saaaad car it was.
