I like ya Eric, but find it funny that you say don't text while driving. I suppose it is okay to take pictures of rainbows while your driving. LOL.
Check your belts n hoses also , a few bucks now can save a major headache later. And I can't tell you how many times being respectful to the police has saved me a ticket ! Some cops are jerks,but in my experience , most are not.

Just added a DIY TPMS so I don't have to bother with manually checking each tire. Yes, I take out my wallet, & phone from my pockets. I also bring some ice cold water &, if I can find some, trail mix. But I like to keep my shoes on.

Always carry a quart or two of oil. You never know when you'll need it and hopefully you bought it on sale avoiding high prices at gas stations.
In europe it's illegal to drive without your shoes.

When you're driving above 65, roll the windows up and turn on the A/C. It will save fuel. The drag created by the windows being down eats more fuel than the A/C.
@3:38, Look at this loud Honda doing 73MPH @ 3500RPM. That droning noise would make you fall a sleep more than anything else!!! In a TownCar, it'll be turning 1700RPM and do 73MPH.

Before leaving on a long road trip, USE THE RESTROOM. Driving on an empty bladder and guts makes the drive that much easier and more comfortable. FILL UP on gas, don't leave with a tank 1/2 full or less, never know what will delay you. When you stop for gas, use the restroom and WALK AROUND for a while. That gets your blood going and helps you to wake up. GRAB A HEALTHY SNACK. Eating junk food can make you tired. DON'T EAT AND DRIVE. Doing so is the same as texting and driving. DON'T DRIVE TIRED. If you get tired while driving, pull into a rest area and take a nap.
I noticed +EricTheCarGuy had a bluetooth earpiece. Although illegal in some places it is a better alternative than holding your phone in hand. Plus I like my music better than radio stations. Another thing to do is plan out the road trip with multiple stops to get out and stretch. Stop at scenic places or landmarks along the way.
Sometimes I can get a bit of a headache during long distance drives. One thing I do to help with this get the car as quiet as possible. Close windows, turn down fans, turn off stereo. quiet….
Shoes seem to be a big subject on this feed, I also take my shoes off and slide them up against the seat on my side of the floor, it really does help to keep your feet cooler, I've been pulled over a couple times had no problem with the shoes, but I guess that depends on where you are and how the cop is, Eric very good advise about dealing with the cops, be nice show respect and sometimes they will let you off with a warning, not always, but sometimes, great video.
