I can’t believe what I found inside the Engine of the Mustang GT. I won’t be fixing the engine because of this, instead I’ll either get a replacement or sell it. Also I show you my issues with the BMW 335, my progress on the Ferrari 360 and BMW i8 projects, and also a new addition to the fleet!

  1. Complain about brake rotors and taking off a timing chain cover on a soon to be vintage Mustang GT; spends 8 hours trying to figure out how to get to o2 sensors and get a hood latch open on a BMW that "may run" for "a few thousand miles" at a time.

I'm not saying that a Mustang is a great vehicle or comparing them against BMW, but the comparative amount of work time to value/use is not there for me.

Then again, there are a lot of brand snobs, particularly when it comes to European cars, who would rather let a car that, if in good condition, will begin to accumulate value rather than depreciate continue to sit.

  2. Ok so drop another engine in it and then build and repair the one you pulled. You can strip it sown and really build it right then you can drop a powerhouse into it and have a backup engine that you know works in case you want to put the weaker engine in amd sell it or if you decide another vehicle would be more fun with the built engine in it. You can get a decent engine from a junk yard for well under a grand and still have less than the value of the car in it. This way you also know ever bit of what work gets done to the stronger engine. Then go take it and show Cletus what you can do lol.

  3. I have a suspicion that the problem with the Mustang is a broken valve spring. This causes the valve to drop and tension to be removed from the rocker, which lets it fall out. You may be able to replace a valve spring without pulling the head.

  4. I had one with a hood latch that wouldn't open. Where the cable attaches to the latch there was a little piece broken off the end of the cable that lets you have sufficient tension to actuate it. How we got it was my friend pulled on the cable and I had vice grips on the cable in the car(unhooked from the pop lever). Sucker opened right up and we accidently closed it and then our trick didn't work so well the second time. May not work for you but the trick was to pull hard on the cable through the wheel well and use vice grips to pull the cable without the lever hooked to it from inside.

  5. gotta love how stepmom used her 6th sense to know the camera zoomed out enough to show her so she could look and smile into it

its like shes had a camera on her before and I cannot imagine why 🙂

  6. Breaking down that motor is actually pretty easy. If you do it, just remember, you can unbolt the passenger side exhaust manifold from the head because you can easily get to the bolts. The driver side, unbolt the exhaust manifold from the cat pipe so the manifold just comes out with the head.

Also brakelabs is a good online spot for brakes(if they are still around, can't access right now on muh work computer). Got crossdrilled rotors and pads for "I think" $130.
