  1. A very good mechanic that I know, said he wouldn’t have a range rover if they gave it to him, all they are money pits you just keep throwing money into themLooks like he’s right.

  2. Oo look… cows!! Mmm, I like cows. Got them in the field next to me. Stroke them, sometimes brush them. Feed them Ground-elder leaves which they love but… I would never trust them, or walk in the field next to them. I've seen them go nuts far too many times. Luckily, nobody's got hurt but it does happen. Every year in England people get killed by cows, last year even one farmer got fatally injured. My own Mum once got encircled by cows and they pushed her to the ground. The dominant female was just about to kneel on her (that's one simple way to kill a human) when someone (brave) rushed in a dragged her away! But I do like cows unpredictable as they are. And I like Range Rovers too… wouldn't trust 'em either.

  3. To be fair to the OEMs, they sell a full replacement snout for the supercharger because no customer wants to pay the labor costs for that tear down you did on yours. Nice job, though.

  4. These cars are only good when bought new. For what they cost and how much they depreciate it still amazes me why anyone would buy a used one unless you're a mechanic. Why dont Range Rover make more of an effort ensuring they are value for money and more reliable? The list of "common" problems is astounding and most arent chesp fixes either.

  5. Subbed. I have this exact model, 2011 RRS SC. Apparently the timing service was completed by the garage that sold it to me. I do hear a rhythmic tick from the engine when I start it, more pronounce in the cold. Ticks are about 1 second apart, tick…tick…tick. Your LR mechanic mentioned in one of these videos that the timing gears could make a rhythmic tick if clogged, wonder if that's it. This certainly has my attention. I also have an issue with the radio/infotainment screen cutting in and out intermittently. Can't determine why that it happening, will be driving along and it will just shut off or vice versa. Love the truck, just hard to work on it under the shade tree.

  6. Have to laugh at all the Range Rover critics… they are no less reliable than other 4×4, they tend to be longer lived so there are more older vehicles around which need love and care, problem is they get into the hands of peeps with limited knowledge and funds, then sit around being unused… plenty for sale in UK with same "can't afford to fix" problems, I have had five Range Rovers, currently driving a 2002 L322 4.4 V8 which I love and probably won't sell unless one of the kids needs an eye operation! It has no faults and drives like a Rolls… because I look after it and maintain it correctly without having to run down the road to the main stealers. Plenty of "why I love my Range Rover" vlogs on here but we all tend to head off and watch "oh no it's broken" just like rubber necking on the freeway? I have had far more problems with Jeep and Mercedes… terminal problems like rust and cracked heads or the "black death" with injectors. Irony being that the stuff that fails on later RR tend to be either BMW or GM components until Jaguar came back onto the scene…. don't get me started on the build quality of US offerings… they are so reliable… as we WatchJRGO swap a gearbox on a 2010 Silverado or Hoovie spend thousands of dollars on a sickly 5 series. I hired out cars in the US during the 80s, all the stuff of dreams now… they where rubbish then and most are rubbish now… spent most of my day sorting tow trucks or just abandoning if too far away, reason why Jap and European cars became so popular? Heaven offend you could call a Mustang or Cadillac coupe de "vile" unreliable. Glass and stone comes to mind.

  7. Numbers dont lie and that isnt just a friend of a friend story. Sales are always good because ppl with money need seperation from the rest. But then again what exotic or super luxery car is reliable other than say benz or bmw and even then once they start pushing 80k they break! Yet ppl talk about gm, ford and dodge lol. Range rover land rovers are nice dont get me wrong but by no means are they know to be even remotely reliable.

  8. You got to give these tubers credit, for Persistence. They have the belief that old BmWs and Range Rovers, can be made reliable by spending a couple thousand. NOT True fellows .

  9. I noticed your scraper had the bevel on the blade. If you grind it to 90 degree corners you can make the cutting edge sharp but it won't dig into the softer metal but will remove the sealer easily.

  10. I long for the days of timing chains that needed no tensioners or guides at all. Just two sprockets and a chain. Lasted almost forever with minimal points of potential failure. What changed? Did overhead cams and variable valve timing require the tensioners and guides?

  11. Samcrac  I got nothing out of the video.
The part you said was cracked and broken in two and causing the very extensive play. Eas not cracked in two.

Where did all the play come from?

  12. Come on Sam MORE MORE MORE your channel is the BEST I can’t get enough of you and your knowledge and enthusiasm. 👍👍
