  1. I am a BIG FAN of your channels ~~~~You know a lot about Hondas. I have 2008 Honda Odyssey EXL. I clean the throttle body with CRC TB cleaner. Closed and Open butterfly positions by holding down the throttle paddle with the brick with Ign switch On. Then I removed the Just NEG battery post for 6hrs. After connecting the battery, engine RPM was hunting high(1200then to 2000 RMP) and low idle hunting happens when the van comes to stop, idle goes down to 1000 RMP then goes up to 1500 RMP. When the van comes to a complete stop idle came down to 750rpm. ENGINE CHECK LIGHT CAME ON after cleaning. But after idle relearn it went away. I have tried ECU Idle relearning steps, 1st, 2seconds of ignition on, then start the engine and run it @3000rmp for 5min, then let idle the engine for cycle the radiator fan on and off twice. after that run the A/C for 5 minutes. to finish the process I drove for 30min ???? It helped with removing high idle hunting 1200 RMP to 2000 RMP but low idle hunting is still there the when van coming to a complete stop. Also, after idle relearn a few times engine hunted when I accelerated to 3000RMP with reduced power. Very slow acceleration had no hunting pasted 3000 RMP(not happening after 2nd steps). 2nd step, removed both battery posts, then reattached both cables for 20 seconds then remove both cables for 3hours. After 3hrs, reattach the cables but, still, low idle is hunting….. ANY SUGGESTS ???????? Thank you very much ~~~~~~complete stop

  3. Yup, not supporting the knuckle after removing the strut is exactly what I did. Managed to damage driveshaft oil seal on the gearbox and to lose some of the fluid. That added some money and frustration that wasn't needed, but you live and learn

  5. I'm finding it very helpful to chase threads before installing old bolts and chasing threads in the holes whether using new bolts or old. They grip so much better. It's hard enough trying to install a bolt when you're fighting heavy new parts, using a jack on suspension, then fighting to get a bolt to start. I even did this with the wheel lug nuts and studs and I have to wonder what the hell others did to my wheels when they took them off and put them back on. I found almost all of them stripped a little bit. I think the money I spent on a tap and die kit was well worth it.

  6. Why would ANYONE make a large fastener socket – or ANY socket – out of aluminum-???!!! Has to be one of the worst ideas ive ever heard of, makes me wonder about the quality in their aluminum suspension parts, just sayin—-

  9. The 2 killers of coil springs, in order of occurrence:
    The vinyl coating get's damaged, ablates (peels off). Oxygen attacks the tempered steel.
    The top bearing fails, causing the spring to "wind" on turns. Vehicle suspension
    springs are meant for compression/expansion only, not twisting.

  10. I daily my project car (even in winter) fluid film does wonders to protect it. It kinda sucks to work on, but no new rust.

  11. I look that socket up in the Snap On book and it is showing that the SNAP ON PART # DPSM16 socket that is in ?. That is a 10 point 16MM I am ????? that you say it a 10 point 17MM just trying to clarify 16-MM or 17-MM thank you

  12. Eric, please fluid film those parts. They won’t rust. There’s nothing better on the market. If you want something thicker, use wool wax. It’s essentially the same thing, just thicker. My truck is spotless in Chicago salt.

  13. I think were in sync Eric, i just replaced the whole front suspension and did brakes all around and bled the system on my beat around/winter camry. Put some new michelin defenders on the front even that i got for a good price of course. It does seem strange putting so much time and effort into a vehicle you just plan to use for things like winter driving but its good to have a reliable pos rather than just a pos.

    Can You do a video on all the little things that break on Honda Accord (I have 2004) I’d like to be aware of dangerous stuff that I can maybe replace ahead of time. I was lucky when the hood struts failed. I just went to the trunk to get washer fluid when the hood fell!! That could of been BAD!!
    Yesterday the gear shift button fell apart in traffic. I only had D and N. That could of been very bad. No R!!! Can’t get key out.
    Sometimes on amazon it says “people also bought…” and one of those was the hood struts. I can’t find anywhere all these parts are listed, gear button, struts, gas tank open cable Etc. I can find videos AFTER it breaks, but……
    Like in this video you say, “these fail a lot in Honda’s”

  16. Thanks for these great videos. They make me want to sell my old Tacoma and get an old Element. I could be mistaken but I think the aluminum socket should be used to install the bolts rather than to remove them. Either way I do not think the aluminum socket could hold up.
