Before you get your panties in a bunch thinking this isn’t a repair video keep in mind that I show not only how to remove the front seats in this car but also provide tips should you need to replace the carpet or remove the dashboard. I also cover some of the detailing that I did in order to bring this VERY dirty ride up to a drivable condition. As I said in the video I was not paid to endorse any of the products used I actually went to my local ‘big box’ store and picked out things that I thought would be readily available to the average person. I hope you find the information useful.

  1. Use the rubber gloves you're wearing and paw at it like a dog !. It's amaising how it works. I just watched a guy in a video before this one !

  2. Roll the duct tape around that roller sticky side out..and ligter fluid take off stickers and the residue

  3. Good Lord man!
    That car was f'ed!
We kept the foam brush/cap from our carpet cleaner. It will do a pretty good job with all kinds of soapy water etc.

  4. In older cars I use to swap the bottom seat part with passenger side. Makes it feel newer. Usually works.

  5. Perhaps in 2012, they did not have the "Lili brush". Also, they could have sprayed a mixture of 10:1 fabric softner over the area and vacuumed it up.

  6. Eric, I am a painter and I use tape all the time to clean things like that. I use the yellow tape and instead of using it in a strip, I like to rap it around my hand. Using the thumb to hold one end of the tape with the sticky side facing out, wrap it around your knuckles then overlap the end by quarter inch and keep wrapping around your fingers. Then when you go to pick up hair and dirt use the whole back side of your fingers and pat it with a twisting motion. When the sticky side of the tape is saturated, you can slide the tape around on your hand to a new section

  7. I did the same thing to my suby that had beed driven by disgusting teenagers for years. Eventually I gave up and bought "new", cleaner seats at the junkyard. The carpet I may just pull out and put some laminate down. Who's genius idea was it to put carpet in cars? They just vacuum up ALL the filth and it never leaves. There has to be a dirt repellant alternative that has similar sound dampening properties.

  8. Videos old I realize that but you could have tried steam cleaning the carpet then use a hair dryer to dry it quick or use a wet vacuum to finish it off. Did this to my vehicle and it eliminated 89% of dirt and smell

  9. I bought that odor eliminator off amazon last night to get a rat smell out of my bedroom I hope it works as good as he says it does if not I blame you Ericthecarguy lol

  10. try spraying dilluted woolite on the carpet.. let it sit a few minutes to loosen the fibers.. then vacuum and brush the hair at the same time with medium bristle brush. it should come up nicely? great videos, eric. stay dirty my friend.

  11. Man that is A LOT OF HAIR! You can't even see the carpet for the hair. Ugh that is so nasty it keeps giving me shivers up and down my spine. Again and Again. ugh. Still watching and hell no. I'd be pressure washing with something that puts out steam. Put that car on a Rotisserie and pressure wash that crap right out of it. Couple of bottles of laundry detergent should help.

  12. how about putting the duck tape on the pet roller, sticky side out, since the pet roller is sticky enough to hold the duck tape…maybe that will help then doing it by hand…just a thought.

  13. Sharks ion flex with the pet tool are amazing for cleaning carpets and its battery powered the dyson v8 cordless and dyson v10 with the pet tools are amazing also for this stuff

  14. I love dogs and cats but not in my house or car disgusting i would burn that car…respect you did a good job cleaning it

  15. thats why i dont buy a car which its owner has a dog , in germany if you want to sell a car and you used to take your dog with you in the car that will reduce the car value
because of that nasty hair all over the car omg

  16. Very smart tips, several of which I have learned by bitter experience. "Might wanna turn off the dome light so you don't run the battery down." LOL I've been down DeadBattery Street for this reason before. You made a mighty big improvement in the appearance of that hoopty!

I use a super cheap product to clean carpets when they get stained like that. After vacuuming them, instead of the foaming stuff, just sprinkle Schweppe's Club Soda on the stains and then rub the area HARD with a terry cloth towel. Then get a dry terry cloth towel and blot it up as much as you can.

Club Soda removes stains. It also neutralizes smells. I buy like six bottles of it to do a car.
