1. Hondas are notorious for rear calipers seizing up and the pads getting stuck, even if you get serviced every year. You're better off doing the rear 2x a year. I know – added expense, but could reduce the long-term cost of new pads/rotors and/or calipers.
   Oh, this is a 2012 video…..ahh well, still applies.

2. Good stuff; this is exactly what is wrong with my Honda accord 2006. Rear left side tire screeching like crazy. Make sure you drive older cars daily if you can. This happened by not driving mine enough. I love youtube for this reason.

7. Got a 2005 Cadillac Escalade, the brake caliper seiz up..the rotor gets red hot..car want go over 40mph..wats wrong

8. adding a little bit of silicone lube between the shims and the bracket will help keep the rust down..

10. anyone try to ghetto turn the rotors by securing rotor with lug nuts and washers turn vehicle on put it in gear an use a file on the rotor while its spinning? worked out ok on my old rear rotors .. looked like they came out the trash pile at junk yard before and after they looked legit like i knew what i was doing

16. I have a caliper piston that travels out but wont retract. It's the rear passenger on a cadillac CTS Doesn't make sense to me that it will travel out but not retract. Bent the handle on my heavy duty C clamp trying.

20. i'd suggest the inside of the slider boots should be cleaned also, rather than just pulling out the sliders and clean/lube them

21. I have a question. I have the same problem stuck caliper pin and a whole lot of rust. Only my issue is it's so rusted I cant even loosen the pin from the housing to take it off of the rotor it looks like it rusted together so it looks like its 1 piece. Any idea how I can get it out of there?

    I have a Honda civic eh9. It has all four disk break. service break functioning well buT rear left side parking break not tide well few machanic repair it but broblem is not sloved. Paking cable not return. Plese send me a advice? (Try to understand my English )

23. little tip. stop using copper grease on the pad sliders, it attracts brake dust and road grime and eventually causes this exact issue.

24. I had a rear caliper like this, I just changed out the rotor, caliper and pads, for new that was the quickest, easiest solution for me and meant I was assured everything was new and I probably wouldn't need to work on it again for while.

25. If u took the car out and taped the brake a wee bit that will clean up the surface of the disc ?
