This is (Episode 26) of the #ETCGDadsTruck Series.

#ETCGDadsTruck got a freshly rebuilt 4L60E from Monster Transmission. The transmission package came with the HGM CompuShift controller, but I got the B&M transmission cooler separately from Summit Racing.

In this video I introduce the Monster Transmission and show how I installed the controller and cooler into #ETCGDadsTruck.

There will be future video installments where I talk about setting up the controller, and how the transmission worked out in this truck. Continue to follow the #ETCGDadsTruck series for those videos.

  1. These people say they build relationships but all they want is your money then they drop you and will do everything possible to not warranty their product!
Like others pointed out they are SCAMMERS .They sent me "rebuild "transmission with metal shavings and 1 bolt in the bottom of the pan.
I really wanted to believe what I saw on their website and advertising and I was "confident " it will work as it should.
I got junk dirty transmission like others wrote on reviews .And sure they "honored " their agreement. It costs me over $4000 and I my transmission is not shifting. I refused to pay to pay monstertransmission to "fix " it for me again for another $1800.Scammers scammers stay away. I have pictures and videos and order number in case they come out telling its "jealous competition " writing this review. Any one who's interested in more information about my review can contact me at muvehid@gmail.com with any questions

  2. Which trans did you get, quick ship, or custom? I was just looking at their site yesterday. Putting a 5.7 in my 94 chevy c1500 stepside. Thinking about getting a trans too. Love the show man, thanks.

  3. hey eric! I love coming back to rewatch your classic build vids. Dad's Truck and the fairmont are so awesome. be well brother!

  4. That's not really a monster transmission it's built by precision transmission in Fort Worth Texas look up those reviews tell me your happy with what you bought Monsters trance is full of BS no transmission company has actual test vehicles that they pay guys to take transmissions in-and-out of its a joke don't listen to their B*****

  6. So disappointed that you went with that brand. So much hype for junk products. Had mine for just over 5k miles, but it was a year and 1/2 old and they were giving me a hard time about warranty issues. Rarely towed anything and nothing more than my lawnmower 2 miles per week. Had so many issues to no vent tube, to heat damage, to mismatched parts. Very expensive and frustrating experience.

  7. A trick I always use for lubricating drill bits is simply dip them in petroleum jelly. Which is really inexpensive.

  8. Saw some videos on here with those B&M coolers and they seem to be the best on the market. Derale also makes some solid ones. The tube and fin design is also good but the turbulators inside the pipes might affect pressure. Maybe low pressure drop

  9. Whoever designed that front end had a time machine. They came to the future, broke into your shop, and measured the piece of steel you were going to use for the brackets. Then went back to the past and designed it so when you went to use that steel, you'd have the exact amount needed.
