I recently pulled the engine from my 1982 Ford Mustang with my new Sunex 2 Ton hoist. Here’s the video.
It was my first time using the tool and I learned a few things about it in the process. I was able to compare my experience with the new hoist with that of the old one. This video covers that comparison.
I like the new hoist. There are a couple of things I miss about the old one, but I don’t miss the fact that it’s pretty much falling apart after about 4 years of use. I will miss the handle and the fact that the hook was easier to use, but I’m looking forward to the dual pump action and the easy rolling casters on the new Sunex.

What the materials of the frame, and The dimension of hollow
Moving the boom it is a stupid comparison because you can get a pin and put it in the harbor freight just like they put a pin in the sun X so that’s not even an argument
Harbor Freight is Junk! Mine did not last 2 Years. and the construction sux. Pivoting Casters in the front is not worth anything as the whole lift will try to walk sideways as you are trying to move it.
The Legs do not fold in enough to not fall down and there is no way to secure them for storage. I almost hit a customers car because of that. Do yourself a favor and get a better tool.

How much cost of this product….
Hey Eric…Just bought the harbor freight 2 ton…Not assembled yet. DO you have any trouble with reach on it because on my 66 mustang used a different folding brand and it would not reach . Had to borrow a friends 4 ton long boom monster. Hoping I dont have an issue with this on a 70 mustang …thoughts ?
Where is the load test? That is the reason these hoists exist. I’d like to see them both pick up their rated capacity. My experience is that HF products need to be derated by at least 50% in order to be safe and serviceable such as being able to roll while under load.
tractor supply or McMaster Carr should have those pins
A lil wd40 on the wheel bearing on the HF and it should roll smooth or take accessories from the S and put it on the HF .. bam ..perfect crane!
If money is no object and ground clearance and speed are important AND you are doing engines every day why not a gantry crane and electric hoist?

I can't see a shop that does more then a occasional engine not having one.
Did you see the vid where the guy RAISED the HF hoist to get MORE ground clearance?
Bearings are coming apart "already". After how many years?
Wider spread stability? How 'bout not fitting between and next to things? Wider is a negative
Paint? Give us a break!
And HOW much more money?
We are millwrights and run the HF crane all over 4 states and abuse the hell out of it including leaving it outside for weeks at a time. (Trust me, Lifting an engine is child's play.) 6 years and no problems with ANYTHING including casters.

I had to put a lowered Honda on some wood & take the wheels off my HF motor picker, rolled the car back, no problemo.
Hi Mr. Eric, i buy the black one yesterday, i am very happy. The handle came with the box. I think you inverse the ground legs, do the left leg to the right and the right to the left, you will have a better stability. Also i bought a engine leveller. 2020 09 05 Saint-Joseph de Mékinac, Trois-Rives, Québec et Labrador.

The HF is a Pittsburgh brand. So take another 20% off with coupon and now your looking at $192. That 20% off will buy new casters
Would've been nice to watch both being raised at the same time to see if dual piston vs. longer stroke made a significant difference.

Bought one of these 1 Ton Harbor Freight lifts last night . Thinking about putting all terrain wheels on them , roughly 6" or 8" wheels for pulling around yard . Any thoughts ?
