On Wednesday, December 27th, 2023, at approximately 3:09 AM, 25th District officers responded to Temple Hospital for an auto vs pedestrian crash that occurred at 501 W Lehigh Ave., with critical injuries. Medic had transported an unknown male to Temple Hospital where the victim was placed in Critical Condition. The preliminary investigation, based on Real Time Crime Camera video depicts the victim to be lying in the middle of the highway when he was struck by what is believed to be a red in color SUV, possibly a Cadillac or GMC and was last observed travelling west on Lehigh Avenue from 7th Street. This video was captured prior to the crash. The victim is unconscious and unable to speak at this time.
