I understand why you did this a hvac is like 2 grand idk how much money he stole but that's about the price of a car so if someone stole your car for example you'd have to report it and even if you didn't know who took it and you report it I'd say it's still snitching but it's all good you gotta do what you gotta do to get your property back and I know if someone stole my car or my guns I'd have to report it if not then someone could shoot someone with my gun or wreck my car or hit someone or some other car and that would be on me and then I'd have a whole bigger mess to deal with

Maybe make sure you aren't doing anything illegal yourself before telling on someone else. You don't even have permits to do construction work.
