  2. I’m sorry but telling people to lie in a ditch is terrible advice, if a wildfire is about to overrun you, you’d be better to try and light an escape fire ahead of it and take refuge in the burned out area than hide in what is essentially your grave…

    GIVE a JOB to EACH FAMILY Member (AGE APPROPRIATE) Have this Written Down on Paper and Taped On the back of FRONT Door and Verbally PRACTICE Monthly
    PREPARE EARLY, Have a Storage Box Ready That will HOLD ALL the things Below
    So YOU Can Put IMPORTANT Papers, PHOTOS Etc In (Do this ASAP Not Last Minute)
    FIRST AID KIT
    Each Family Members MEDICINE Kits + ANY Medicine SCRIPS
    TORCH+ EXTRA Batteries
    Have a EMERGENCY PET Box/Bag with at Least 3 Days of Food (Wet food/Biscuits + Bowls for each PET
    One Empty Corial/ Similar Bottle filled With WATER per PET, Vet HEALTH Cards for each PET Etc)
    FIRST AID KIT
    FIND and Bring INSIDE ALL PETS DON'T Let them OUT Again, Put down PUPPY Training Pads Down in a PLACE Where Pets Go Out Eg Back Door
    HORSES and LIVESTOCK Should have Moved to SAFEZONE 2-3 days ago
    Have all TRANSPORT BOXES, LEADS Etc READY for Your PETS
    EVACUATE Early,
    GET OUT When TOLD by EMERGENCY SERVICES
    YOU CAN'T STAY and FIGHT to save your HOME (It's BETTER to have YOUR LIFE and the ONES YOU LOVE ALIVE YOU Can ALWAYS REBUILD, BUT YOU Can't Bring Back a LIFE the ONLY PEOPLE that Can FIGHT FIRES are FIREFIGHTERS They are TRAINED and the EQUIPMENT to Do So They Will Do EVERYTHING POSSIBLE to SAVE Your House BUT LIVES Come FIRST They PUT THEIR LIVES On the LINE to SAVE YOURS SO DON'T Put Their LIVES/TEAMS On the LINE Because YOU Want to STAY (SAFE=REBUILD) What a BEAUTIFUL GIFT to see another TOMMOROW
