There is some science behind the theory of the "full moon effect". It has something to do with the gravitational pull the moon has on the Earth and where it is in its orbit around the Earth. If I'm not mistaken, when the moon is at its 'apogee' that is when ocean tides are the highest and it can and does have an effect on brain tissue of humans and mammals.
