  1. My truck lost its heater promptly when I used head gasket sealer. I've attempted to flush the core but it has still failed. It has a mechanical control valve that is hooked up properly. Every other possibility mentioned in this video has been investigated. I should have had my mechanic take a look when he was doing a gasket job for me but I didn't and here we are. Advice would be appreciated.

  2. My car about five months ago stopped blowing hot air. I floored it and it came back on and hadn’t stopped working ever again for five months until now. I tried flooring it over and over and it just wasn’t working. I can’t believe he mentioned revving your car might work lmao. Now I know my problem.

  3. Chris..great video. But im stumped. Heater core works, i replaced the control valve, but just stays open. Seems no vacume but the lines are all intact. No heat at all in the cabin, so i expected this to be an actuator at the blend door. But since the vac line is not working, is this the controller maybe?? I now gave a generic vac leak check engine code active.

  4. THANK YOU FOR SUCH AN INFORMATIVE VIDEO. IM A 46 year old widow and having this exact issue but on a very tight budget. Currently I am stranded due to a snow storm combined with no heat making it dangerous since I cannot see through the windshield due to ice.
Sadly im stuck until tomorrow afternoon when hopefully some sunshine will allow me to complete my 2 hour journey home but I cannot wait to follow your instructions and get my heat working again.
My poor dog is shivering so bad. That’s the hardest part for me.
We are soooooo cold but you’ve given me some hope so we never have to go through this again.
    Thanks again.

  5. Wow. I just subscribed! What great detail in your video. I appreciate you not being cocky like some people’s videos. I know about car motors, but would not consider myself a pro. So thanks for the easy to follow tutorial.

  6. Hey Cris, I was driving with no coolant on the highway. Going home from work. There was no heater and the temperature meter was going up and then down. And until a point where my car will shut down. It will lose power. Now there's no power. I tried to jump start but there was a mechanic that passed by and he said it's not the battery it was coolant that spilled all over and it got the radiator wet. That's why there's no power. And I asked him what it needed to be done and he said something and to dry up the alternator. What's your take on this?

  7. I got my heater core replaced by a mechanic, it was working the day he fixed it and it was fantastic, a week later back to how it was before i got it fixed heat not working when i put it on mix. What could it be???

  8. I got a car with AC deleted and even the blower fan. I believe heater core good when did the two hose touch test. How can I hook up my heater from here to work for my car? I don’t care for the AC at this point

  9. Still a great video to this day. I went through the complete video, replaced the blower motor resistor per the symptoms. The blower continued acting screwy throughout the different switch positions, then finally found that the culprit was the actual fan speed switch contacts had welded closed in the high speed position. Replaced the switch, and voila! Fan speeds work again! Thanks a bunch for stepping us through the entire system, definitely makes troubleshooting easy when you know how something is supposed to work. 👍
