This method will ensure you get a complete fluid change and flush to give you another 100k miles of care free driving. 1. Learn how to replace every fluid in your car: https://youtu.be/t7JCh7PHoDc

My new video covers how to do an oil change, transmission fluid change, coolant flush, power steering fluid flush, brake fluid flush and bleed, differential fluid change, transfer case fluid change, grease the suspension, and finally add washer fluid properly!

  2. Why so much thumbs down on this mans video??
    Your awesome Chris!!!
Keep them coming, your the reason a lot of people on here are able to learn and do their own Maintenence!!

  3. If your fluid turns black again super quickly I've found that it usually means the pump is bad and overheating. Hopefully this helps someone!

  4. You mentioned a "new line" at the 3:46 mark. Is it recommended that you replace the old return line with a new one whenever doing power steering flushes?

  5. Is there a problem if I don't drain all of the old fluid? Could I just do the turkey baster portion and replace that fluid to a similar effect?

  6. Make sure you get that return line hose clamp exactly in the same spot it was before. Match it up to the imprint left on the hose. If you don't, it can leak. Small vice grips can help you get it back on.

  7. Super helpful Chris. Those uniform wearing knuckleheads at auth workshops are useless kids. You make it look so easy. I did for my Accord 2.4 AT exl 👍

  8. Just came back from car shop to get an oil change (discounted to $88.90); forgot to ask for my military discount which most merchant honor! Told I needed an air filter for $39 and some change! Went over to car parts and got it for $$28 bucks! I Saved 11 dollars. I was quoted $158 to flush the power steering! And that is the reason I'm here. I think I can save a few bucks! Thanks for a clear demonstration of what I need to do. The young man problem has a string of shops by now. I hope so.

  9. done this so many times but my fluid just goes instantly dark/black again instead of bright/light red.. and keeps squealing when cold.. flushed and replaced it so much steering feels lighter but still sqealing on cold mornings when turn wheel lock to lock?

  10. This seems like the best method, my Honda service manual says to disconnect the return hose from the reservoir, connect a tube to the return line, start the car and let it run dry until no fluid comes out of the return line. However, at that height, the some old fluid stays stuck in the return line. Also, it doesn't make sense that it's okay to let it run dry but we can't drive being a little bit low on fluid.

Planned obsolescence or is there an actual logic ?

  11. Hey Chris, my car calls for dexron III ATF in my owners manual. I’m unsure if it matters if I get dexron VI, or if it needs to be fully synthetic or conventional. Please help

  12. Does anyone know of any video of how to replace power steering pump on a Mazda CX9 FWD 2012? Mine is leaking and don't have the cash to pay a pro, they will charge me $540 to replace it. I have some experience on mechanics but this thing is buried right next to the wheel well and the engine.
I would like to find the "easiest" way to replace it.
    Thank you.

  13. If you have a leak on the high pressure side you will see fluid when it's running. If you have a leak on the low pressure side you were here at the pump cavitating that means it's making a whining noise. This should help you find any leaks and loss of fluid within your power steering system.

  14. Old school track when you pulling lines this like that and draining them light a rag across across the openings. That way the food coming out won't splatter all over the place but would just run down on the rag into a pan below. It's still a mess but a lot easier to clean up and you won't miss any

  15. The anxious pine randomly bounce because engineer globally crack astride a available otter. womanly, tasteful son

  16. Definitely check your owner's manual. I did a replacement like this on my 05' 4runner and it uses Dextron III (ATF fluid)

  17. Cris can you please help me what kind of power steering fluid in my 2005 nissan sentra bcoz I don't have manual andr i want to change my fluid thanks

  18. Does anyone knows if my power steering runs dry for a few minutes it will get permanently damaged ,or just temporary, cause I had to drive a few miles without power steering fluid till I found a gas station to get some , and now is making noise
