You would be much better off using a line wrench. Especially if its really rusted.

Great tutorial! I'm amazed that you didn't use a line wrench for the hard line. I've rounded one before then I had to use Vise-Grips to remove it.

Is it one or two of them (crush washers)? I found just one of them on the Banjo Bolt of the old cylinder, but in the pack for a new set there are two of them. Where does the second go? 2001 Saturn SL2.

Hey Chris im stuck i removed the two bolts that hold the cylinder and removed the line with the bleeder but it's seems stuck i tried to hammer the cylinder with rubber one it didn't move at all . Im afraid to brake something or maybe there is another thing holding it but i couldn't find it im working in (c1500 suberban rwd 1999) any tips will help .

I don’t bleed brakes that way I go the old way but everyone’s different I have the person in the car push the brakes like 15 times and tell them to hold it then I loosen the bleeder screw and then tighten it back up while he has it pressed to the floor. Great video though

Is it necessary to keep installed wheel drum while bleeding cylinder?

Note that if your just doing the cylinder you just have to remove whatever is holding the shoes in place in the cylinder to take it out

Great video! But probably should have clean the vacuum cover. Before reinstalling the new one first.? Also should have kept up with the brake fluid level during bleeding. Can also do the bottle bleed if you're by yourself.
Anyone can help me out. When i removed the brake line no fluid came out. I cannot bleed it. I was able to bleed the front calipers only

I have question I'm in a bit if dilimier, I've got car on stands at moment.
I'm doing a service clean and adjustment for the rear back brake drums. I was just checking the wheel cyclinder for leaks under the rubber Gromet seal but I manged to pull it off and abit of fluids come out and poured on to the bottom cornor of the shoes. I used break cleaner stright away and lightly sanded the shoe area.
My question are:
Do I need to change wheel cyclinder ?
Do I need to replace the shoes (pair)?
Do I need to bleed just that one wheel or both back wheels or do I need to all 4 wheels?
