I think Michele already knew it was a scam before you contacted her. Based on her response, I think she found out pretty recently and in her confusion is trying to backtrack and distance herself knowing that she's already in pretty hot water.

If michelle was in on it why would she tell you its a scam? it wouldn't make sense as she is supposed to be the one to collect the money and send it but just gave it away that its a scam. I don't think she was in on it.

He kept saying "I am the owner of the house", but you should have said "How can you prove that you are the owner of the house? sounds like it makes more sense for the poster to be the owner. If you have some proof it should straighten things out"
