Alcatel OneTouch 4G Car Wifi

Alcatel OneTouch has brought a new 4G LTE Wifi stick to IFA 2015, giving us new options for bringing Wifi signals to inside our automobiles. It gives you fast internet from inside your car, connecting up to 15 users. 100% compatible with all car models, just plug it in to the car’s cigarette lighter. There is Micro SD slot, as well as a power on/off button. Size wise it’s quite small, and supports Wi-fi 802.11 b/g/n 2.4GHZ as well as LTE up to 150 mbps. There is a dedicate app compatible with both Android and IOS which allows you to control and update the 4G car Wi-fi remotely. Available in Europe starting in October of 2015, do you think this a device you’ll be keeping an eye out for?

  1. I can see this being useful to keep kids entertained on their WiFi only tablets, or iPods. As the adult who is driving the car though I can't think of a single scenario where I would use it.

  2. Why exactly will someone buy this? A USB based WiFi hotspot is a better purchase since most cars come with a usb port (adapters are also pretty cheap) and the device can be used outside the car as well.

  3. Its about speed! Tethering is slow. Fine for emails, and stuff. But what about online gaming, LoL, Dota 2, HOTS, Starcraft, etc. Curious about the data prices of course.

  4. So what's the data cap for one of these? Is it possible to get one with unlimited data? Also why not just get a car charger for your phone and then use your phone as a hotspot?
