Lighter dark mode makes sense as the contrast between white text and a pitch black background wont strain your eyes as much. However they really need a pitch black toggle rather than no option at all.

That light dark was made by angry programmer, who got devkit with ips pannel, to eliminate backlight bleed.
i'd personally prefer the slightly lighter black tone in dark mode, not every device has an oled screen anyway
