Android Gaming Controllers Roundup + Pixel 6a Gaming Test

So, the Pixel 6a has launched, and there’s been a bit of controversy over heating issues. Well, nothing heats up a smartphone like gaming (besides being left in the sun), so Tshaka took the Pixel 6a AND Pixel 6 Pro for a spin with three of Android Central staff’s favorite gaming controllers. He takes a look at the Razer Kishi V2, Gamesir X3, and Nacon’s MG-X Pro. Check out the timestamps below to get right to the Pixel 6a heat test, or the individual looks at the controllers.

As Tshaka referenced in the video, we have in-depth reviews of each controller on the site if you want to dig deeper:

  1. I bought the mg-x pro two weeks ago and the LB button stopped clicking and don't work properly so I return, should I try the Kishi V2 or buy the mg X pro again?

  2. In the end i got the Kishi V2 for my Pixel 6.
The good – its perfect in 99% of time.
The bad – i have to remove the smartphone case everytime using it because even with a Spigel Air or Slim it does not fit in to and USB-C wont connect at all.

  3. @Tshaka Armstrong – Does the Pixel 6a fit into the Kishi v1 without needing to remove the rubber pads? Worried about the camera bar.

  4. Perfect gamepad would have Nacom's extended grips (for long sessions), Gamesir's cooling (for better heat/battery management, probably requires a cavity for the camera islands on our phones though) and Kishi's right sided usb-c port (for those silly games that won't rotate the other way around). Hopefully in the next generation of controllers, we'll see one with all of that. Until then hanging on to my old Kishi.

  5. That Razer paddle looks so much like the Backbone lol. Anyone have any recommendations of a good controller for the ZFlip?
