Android P: Changing The Game With Project Treble – Gary Explains

Project Treble promises to bring balance to Android’s biggest problem: version fragmentation. First introduced with Android O, this reworking of the Android OS’ internals will hit its stride in Android P, evidenced by the fact that seven OEMs released Android P betas in parallel with Google. So, what exactly is Project Treble and how does it help? Please, let me explain.

  1. I had enough of all factory customized android! from now & on looking for stock Android (AndroidOne). & the straw that breaks the camel's back is the EMUI suppressing apps notification that I doesn't used regularly! for example, you don't recieve notifications from loved one or customer services from those apps you don't use regularly!! Stock Android means first & regular updates, the most practical, stable version you can get. fast & sleek looking!

  2. Business Opportunity in Ruvol

I have invented a Board Game [still unpublished and not yet out in the market] that I believe is guaranteed to be as challenging and exciting as CHESS. I called it “RUVOL.”

It is my hope that one day Ruvol may surpass chess as the “Number One Board Game in the World.”

The weakness of chess is it always starts in fixed positions that the opening moves become “memorizable.” In fact, not a few have so mastered the moves that they can play against their opponents “blindfolded.” It is for this very reason that the great Bobby Fischer introduced his so-called “Fischer Random Chess,” where the starting position of the pieces is “randomized” to make the memorization of openings impracticable. Fortunately, it is also for this reason that I invented Ruvol where “every game” has been calculated to be a challenging one to play.

HOW IS RUVOL PLAYED and HOW YOU CAN MONETIZE IT?

I detailed everything in my YouTube video. Here is the link: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jcqth0m3-R0

    BIG MONEY POTENTIAL IN RUVOL!

It is worthwhile to note that the people who play chess will be the same people who will play Ruvol. In my Google search, I learned there are around 800 million chess players in the world. Even just a small percentage of these 800 million is good enough to earn big money from Ruvol either as an ONLINE GAME BUSINESS or as a PHYSICAL PRODUCT DISTRIBUTOR.

    Thanks and God bless!

  3. Two years later and it looks like project treble failed at its primary objective.

“Treble can't address an increasingly undeniable reality within the Android ecosystem: the fact that most Android device-makers have little real motivation to make timely OS updates a priority.” — Computer World’s Raphael

  4. Android Q is coming and my 1 and a half years old 1000$ phone still runs on 8.0.0 and won't receive further updates…. F— LG with locked bootloader.

  5. Skeptic about its adaptability because of the business strategy. Though this should be excellent for non-handsets such as auto. Where device upgrade is not expected to be very common.

  6. Gary, I get it that you're sorry about the bg noise but instead of being sorry you could've provided captions for that part. (Advice for editors)

  7. 0:54 Lenovo and (reportedly) ASUS are notorious for that level of laziness within their respective Android device divisions. My Yoga Tab 3 Pro, which would've been a great tablet, is stuck on Android 6 due to Lenovo's shitty Android device division not keeping their Android devices up to date, so I have to put up with their buggy notification shade and app switcher, as well as a bug in some internal Android thing that renders image thumbnails, like those in Twitter, and the emoji panel in the Instagram comments. It's so bad, that I had to use "Friendly" instead. Lenovo really needs to learn from their Motorola division when it comes to keeping their devices up to date. In fact, I spend more time setting up apps I install there due to annoying Android "Screen overlay detected" errors from apps like Power Shade that I use to cover up the buggy Lenovo software.

  8. I wonder how would Chinese-targeted OEMs react. On one hand, treble is great; on the other hand, the government doesn’t like Google.

  9. hmmm, but I need to buy a new phone don't I?.. as long as mine still works, I'll stick with 7.0… thx
but whenever I do update, if this is already around, great!

  10. Hi Gary! I like videos, they are very informative and to the point. I'm very curious about the Snapdragon 710 and how does it compare to older 820, 821.. etc. Hope you'll make a video explaining that. Thanks!

  11. I hope it comes like demonstrated. Giving the OEMs and Carriers a "Veto" option which update should arrive on which device at the end was the biggest mistake Google could make and gave them a huge disadvantage against Apple. The new project just works well if OEMs and Carriers are forced to use the HALs as well ofc.

  12. Normally I enjoy the clarity of your presentations. With that level of background noise, please burn in captions in the noisy parts. Thanks.
