as a former owner of an eris that upgraded to a thunderbolt, i can tell you that eris is total garbage

Ive had both phones. There both GREAT phones. each have there pros and cons it just matters how you care for them and what you do with them.

htc eris droid when i tryed it at the store it was hella fast easy to text on because i never used a touch screen that phone was great i love the look of the phone and i never liked the droids keybord

The guy in the vid is ruh-tarded. The browser test is void because he has the Moto in 'overview' and the Eris in 'zoomed'….it's going to take extra time to translate the picture into zoomed. If they were both set at 'overview' (in the browser menu for Eris) they would be the same speed. 3g connection is 3g connection…

two days ago i was in a huge dilemma between choosing the droid or eris but i went with the moto droid and i must say, i am in love with it! i have no regrets with my choice. the texting is actually really easy to use, and i dont find the size or weight to be an issue at all.
Just for future reference AndroidCentral, we can turn annotations off…I wouldn't rely on them to block out offending content lol.
@hellkid48: HTC has said that they are planning on rolling out Android 2.1 (eclair) to the Eris and Hero by mid-march. Also, from what I understand, you can't install custom keyboards on any SenseUI device. You CAN do this on stock Android devices.

Pros: Eris does Flash (Lite), so that alone makes it 100 times better. The microSD card allows you to put on a plethora of music, takes thousands of pictures with the 5 MP camera & camcorder. GPS & WiFi work perfectly.
Cons: Battery life isn't great, but at least you can pop in a backup when it dies. Try doing that with an iPhone!!!
It's 2010 and Apple is still too cheap to give us a phone that runs Flash without jailbreaking it.

If you unlock your iPhone you still wont be able to use it with Verizon.
the reason why the droid takes longer to render is the pixels. 400×854 vs the iPhones 400×340 of course the iPhone will render faster, the problem is you have to zoom to read anything on the iPhone where as the droid its a lot easier and a lot more crisp.
Hoping to buy an Eris soon. My enV doesn't vibrate half of the time, ring, or beep, yet when I need to prove it's broken it ironically works again.
I kind of still want a faster overall phone, so I want to wait for the Nexus One but $200 is really expensive for me.
your set up is stupid. try harder next time
Just a thought but we didn't see you clear the cache or history on the iPhone. Could be another reason why it loaded faster. The Eris is my first smartphone so I wouldn't be able to compare but just found this interesting.
HTC has come a long way. The iPhone has lost its flare. Apple still boasts things that no one cares about, like AT&T boasts that you can browse the internet while on the phone. Who does that?! No one really does. So it's almost useless. And copying and pasting… smart phones could do that a LONG time ago.
The thing that AC forgot to mention is that the Eris is Mutitouch,Droid is not.
