  1. Hey Jayce! Check out Swipe for Facebook – it's got fantastic UX and beautiful UI, while maintaining all the bells and whistles of the official app. Lightweight (2.5 MB), customizable (dark themes), and highly battery efficient (~5-10x more than the official app). And yes, you can even swipe between tabs. It's still new, but it's so much better than the other wrapper style apps.

  2. I just don't get why Facebook is developed this way. it seriously doesn't need to be like this. for one of the biggest tech companies I would expect better

  3. Metal is awesome. Takes only 11 MB of RAM and 8 MB when installed. I hope they add full screen pictures like original Facebook app.

  4. iPhone does a very well job on optimizing the Facebook app. As for android, yes it is a disaster. I just use the browser and have it send me push notifications.

  5. just put in mbasic instead of m or www, then you'll use the most basic version of fb via chrome which consumes little data and isn't power hungry at all

  6. anyone know why I have "com.Facebook. katana" using up space and memory even after I deleted my Facebook app?? I can't seem to delete it

  7. so out of lack of anything else to do I logged in fb on Chrome and uninstalled the app and the phone has actually sped up some during typing on the keyboard and apps 'seem' to be working quicker. just observing but interesting none the less. S6 active.
