  1. People drive me crazy when they they say HTC crap. Ive got got this and its fab. Sense companion isn't brilliant but useful. I absolutely love the dual screen. Love it.

  2. Brought the HTC u ultra for 280.00 in 2018 best phone hands down. Only flaw , should have had a bigger battery (perhaps 4000mh) love the HTC u-sonic headphones simply amazing .

  3. Thanks for the unbiased review! I do agree HTC U Ultra missed some opportunities to make itself more compelling. No water-proofing, no wireless-charging, no 3.5mm jack, 3000mAh battery, not Daydream-ready. But when i test-drove it, it was a very solid phone with a good camera. As it is, and considering the competitions, it would be more compelling at less than US$650. Not at US$750.

  4. What the hell's in that phone? It's so big and has an average battery, and no headphone jack? Mate 9 is about the same size and has that 2-day battery.

  5. For $1,199AUD I waited for the Galaxy S8 Plus and bought that for $1,349AUD which has newer & better hardware for the cost the U Ultra is not worth more than $450 to $525AUD!

If HTC had been real with the cost they could have sold this phone like hot cakes as a mid-range phone, But for year old hardware and unfinished software (HTC U Sense Companion!) and no Stereo front facing boom sound speakers and no headphone jack and decent DAC what a joke!

  6. I love people saying that the Ultra is a waste of space… Thanks MK… Honestly, there's a few omissions that drive me nuts… Wireless Charging??? But other than a few minor things, the Ultra is the best phone I've used.

I needed a replacement for my Note 5, and since my dreams of the Note 7 went up in flames, I had to find thr right mix of power and design to replace it. After making my short list: Big screen, Great camera, Decent battery life and Good feel in hand, I took a chance on the Ultra. I'm really glad I did.

The phone is very we balanced, has much better battery life than I ever imagined and by far the best camera of any phone I've used in the last few years. I would definitely rate it ahead of the S7 and the current One Plus offerings. The secondary display was the one gimmicky feature that I was still wondering if it would be a disaster or not. After using it for a while now, I have to say, it's a huge battery saver. I run about 16 hours a day of moderate business usage and I don't usually fall much below 50%.

Overall, the Ultra has been a great multifunction device for me and I think it would be for many others if they just gave it a solid look.

  7. While the whole industry is going for the big display with small chassis philosophy, HTC decided to release the most space-wasting phone ever. As an HTC 10 user, please Help This Company 🙁

  8. I keep seeing people trying to down the battery in this phone but don't see nearly as many people saying anything about the larger screen s8 having the same size battery… but I digress… Samsung is perfect
