  1. Excited? No way, when it’s using that same pathetic lethargic tensor chip as in the current pixel 6. What a disappointment for a tech giant not to come up with a super powerful SoCs when they clearly have the capability to do so.

  2. Why not? I use a tablet every day for watching movies and playing the occasional video game. I just alternate with my phone while it's on the charger at home. I always thought that Google abandoning this market segment was a massive blunder. Sure Chrome OS is pretty good but if just want to unwind then it's more than what I need, as is just using a Windows or Apple laptop/all-in-one. Of course Samsung pretty much owns the android tablet market right now but more competition is good for everyone.

I find iPad to be a little too expensive and locked down way too much. For example if you want to use the app store then they basically force you to use a credit card which is some right bullshit and it Apple doesn't like something then you can forget about installing it. For example emulators or game streaming. Granted they do have some pretty nice iOS exclusives mainly in relation to professionally oriented applications etc.

I've never understood this whole fan religion thing. I mean even if you think some X is the dog's bullocks then having more competition or alternatives in the market is only going provide incentive to improve that X.

  3. why are you asking if there's going to be a pixel tablet? it was already announced at the spring google io event. we know there will be one. they showed pictures of it. what planet are you guys living on?
